Time to check in with the top MLB Best Bets and Props for today! We have a full slate of MLB games throughout the day with first pitch for the Miami Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays being thrown at 12:10 PM ET. It’s a heavy mix of daytime baseball, though I’m not sure just how invested I want to be. 

The MLB trade deadline has passed, players are joining new teams, everyone’s a little thrown off their game and it might just be best to play light. We’ll see what the latest Vegas lines and odds look like, but just a heads up for those who have been tailing.

 

 

 

MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 7/31

Our winning streak came to a halt during Tuesday’s MLB predictions. Not a crazy losing day, but we missed on some of our strikeout props and that gave us a sub-.500 record for the day. 

Guys like Chris Bassitt and Jeffrey Springs didn’t go as deep into the games as we had hoped while Justin Steele got beaten up by the Reds and yet still managed to strike out seven and ruin our day. That’s baseball.

Mariners vs. Red Sox Prediction: Wednesday, July 31

The odds and lines are looking pretty tight, so our MLB best bets today will just stay focused here on the new-look Mariners taking on Brayan Bello and the Red Sox. It’s been a rocky last few starts for Bello and while he hasn’t allowed more than three runs in any of his last three starts, we’ve been looking at a diminishing strikeout rate and five home runs allowed in his last four outings. 

Seattle made some nice improvements at the trade deadline, and clearly, they’re amped up, winning four of their last five and averaging more than seven runs per game in that span. On the other side, I’m a big fan of George Kirby who hasn’t allowed more than three runs in 10 of his last 11 starts. 

In fact, he’s only allowed three once while allowing just one run in each of his last three outings. The strikeout rate has looked good, plus Boston owns the fourth-worst strikeout rate this season at 24.9-percent and that number has been consistent over their last 10 games.
