His last start against the Cubs was, in his own words, "weird," a season-high 11 strikeouts but five earned runs allowed in a game he described as cruising through four innings before losing steam late. Tonight he gets Cincinnati, a team he's flat out owned in his career, 5-0 with a 1.38 ERA and 52 strikeouts across 39 innings in seven starts, a 12 K/9 clip against this exact lineup. With a 30.4% strikeout rate on the season and Reds hitters chasing strikeouts at 25.3% against right-handers, one of the better team matchup numbers on the board, this is the play of the night. Shota Imanaga Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-125)

Dating back to June 10, Imanaga has been genuinely elite, a 2.00 ERA over eight outings and a scorching 1.19 ERA across his last four starts, bringing his season line to 7-8 with a 3.72 ERA and 113 strikeouts in 121.2 innings. His last time out was six scoreless innings against the Pirates on four hits, continuing that dominant stretch. Tonight he draws a Yankees lineup that's been gutted, missing Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and Cody Bellinger, and hitting just .220 with a .279 OBP over its last 24 games, an offense leaning on Ben Rice and Jasson Dominguez to manufacture anything. Nathan Eovaldi Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-145)

Eovaldi is running 6.5 strikeouts per game across 20 appearances this season, a workhorse year for the 36-year-old built on both durability and swing-and-miss stuff. His two meetings with Houston this year both came back in May, a 7-inning shutout with 11 strikeouts in the first look, then a follow-up start two turns later where he gave up five runs over seven innings with six strikeouts, evidence that even in a rougher outing against this lineup he's still handled length and racked up whiffs. Tonight he gets the Astros again at home, and Houston strikes out against right-handers at a 22.1% clip, a workable number for a pitcher who has punched out at least six in every meeting with them this year.
