Best MLB Strikeout Props Today

Taj Bradley Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-105)

Bradley is 8-3 with a 3.67 ERA and has been must-watch television lately, striking out double digits in back-to-back starts, 11 at Houston and then 10 against Cleveland with a career-high 25 swinging strikes. He has not lost a game in over a month.

Tonight he gets the Angels at home, a lineup he has a 3.18 ERA against across two career starts, and Los Angeles chases strikeouts against right-handers at a 24.8 percent clip, the best matchup number on the board. Take it.

Cade Cavalli Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+100)

Cavalli is 5-4 with a 3.88 ERA and 105 strikeouts in 92.2 innings, and he has allowed two or fewer earned runs in three of his last four outings. His electric fastball has touched triple digits, and he carries a career-high 13-strikeout effort from his last start against Boston into today's game.

Tonight he gets the Yankees at home, and New York strikes out against right-handed pitching at a 23.8 percent rate. Lock it in.

Payton Tolle Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-115)

Tolle is the story of Boston's rotation this year, a 23-year-old rookie who ranks top 10 among all first-year starters in ERA, strikeout rate, and fWAR. His last start was a bounce-back gem, six shutout innings, six strikeouts, and just two hits allowed against the White Sox.

Tonight he gets the Mets on the road, and while New York has trimmed its strikeout rate recently, Tolle's emerging stuff, a 9.0 K/9 and 24.5 percent K rate on the season, gives him plenty of margin above this number. Get it in.

Ian Seymour Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-140)

Seymour just set a career high with 12 strikeouts in his last start against the Yankees, generating 17 whiffs on 94 pitches. Over his last six outings, he has posted an elite 6.5 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Tonight he gets Seattle at home, and the Mariners have been striking out at a huge 33.3 percent clip over their last 14 games, one of the highest marks anywhere on the slate. Lock it in.

Pitcher Strikeout Projections vs Betting Lines

Every strikeout prop on the board gets measured against season-long performance, recent form, and opponent tendencies before it ever makes this column. Betting lines move for a reason, and our job is to find where the market has not fully priced in a matchup edge. That is the foundation of every pick you see above.

Strikeout Props to Avoid Today

Shane Baz vs Royals

Baz is 4-9 with a 4.21 ERA, and his strikeout rate has cratered this season to a career-worst 7.6 K/9. His last start against the Cubs was a clean quality start on the scoreboard, six innings and three runs, but he managed just three strikeouts while needing 100 pitches to get there.

Kansas City is not a big swing-and-miss lineup for right-handers either, sitting right around league average. When a pitcher without his usual swing-and-miss stuff faces a lineup that does not chase much, the plus-money over is more trap than value. Leave it alone.
