Catchers Allowing the Most Stolen Bases

Best MLB Stolen Base Picks Today:

Locking in the best stolen base predictions means finding the absolute perfect storm of a high-on-base runner and a weak battery. Here are our top two MLB stolen base picks today for Friday, June 26:

Favorite Bets:

Chandler Simpson, Tampa Bay Rays (+232)

It’s a little chalky, but who cares? We’re here to cash bets, not impress anyone. Simpson provides us with a very strong opportunity here as he has hit safely in six of his last seven games and has five stolen bases in that span. He’s got a .345 OBP against right-handed pitching this season and 16 of his stolen bases have come against righties as well. So, with Zac Gallen on the bump and allowing lefthanded hitters to post a near-.400 wOBA and OBP, this feels like a good spot, especially with Arizona catchers posting a caught-stealing rate of just under 20-percent.

Kevin McGonigle, Detroit Tigers (+315)

Sure, McGonigle has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games, but he hasn’t really been too active on the bases. Today presents a nice opportunity though as righty Spencer Arrighetti, who allows lefty hitters to post a .348 OBP against him, has allowed 14 stolen bases this season which is second-most on today’s slate. But even more important is Astros catcher Yainer Diaz posting just a 14-percent caught-stealing rate. When McGonigle gets on-base, he’s taking off at his first opportunity.
