Jose Caballero, New York Yankees (+240)

Considering Caballero is just average against left-handed pitching (.297 wOBA), this selection has some risk. However, I want to try and take advantage of the inexperienced Red Sox catcher Mickey Gasper, who has yet to throw out a single baserunner in 12 stolen base attempts against him this season. Caballero has 17 stolen bases on the season, a solid success rate at 71-percent, and a high-end sprint speed. Connelly Early has been a solid southpaw for Boston this season, but the Yankees have been very successful against lefties, so I expect Caballero to be running if he can find his way on base.

Bryson Stott, Philadelphia Phillies (+399)

We’re going to ride the hot of the lefty-hitting Stott, as he’s hit safely in seven of his last eight games and has three stolen bases during that span. Nationals righty, Cade Cavalli, has allowed five stolen bases, which is second-most on this short slate, and his primary catcher, Keibert Ruiz, has just a 25-percent caught-stealing rate over 36 attempts, so teams are definitely testing him. Cavalli has had his struggles with lefty hitters, allowing a .361 wOBA this season, so not only are we expecting Stott on-base, but to also stay aggressive on the basepaths.
