Pitchers Most Vulnerable to Stolen Bases Today

When hunting for successful MLB stolen base picks today, targeting the right pitcher is half the battle. The following list is made up of the day’s starting pitchers who have allowed the most stolen bases this season.

Catchers Allowing the Most Stolen Bases

The final piece of the puzzle for finding the best stolen base predictions involves looking behind the dish at catcher pop times and throwing accuracy. How many times teams attempt to steal a base on a particular catcher is a strong indicator of who we expect to see doing the most running today. The following backstops have the lowest Caught Stealing% with a minimum of 10 SB attempts against them.

Best MLB Stolen Base Picks Today:

Locking in the best stolen base predictions means finding the absolute perfect storm of a high-on-base runner and a weak battery. Without further ado, here are our top MLB stolen base picks today for Saturday, August 22:

Favorite Bets:

Nasim Nunez, Washington Nationals (+270)

Chalky, sure, but the matchup is simply too good. Eury Perez is tied for the league lead in stolen bases allowed on the year, and the tandem of Perez and Joe Mack have allowed an 85.7% success rate (6-for-7) in 2026. Nunez hasn’t had the best of runs here in the second half, but he swiped two bags yesterday, has a 97th-percentile sprint speed, and he’s 30-for-34 on stolen base attempts against RHP in 2026.

The Nationals are running at one of the higher clips in the MLB over the last two weeks, and amongst qualified runners, Nunez has the second-highest stolen base attempt rate (6.4%) in all of baseball.

Spencer Jones, New York Yankees (+528)

Jones stole just one base across his first 82 plate appearances for the Yankees, but since rejoining the club after the All-Star break, he’s a perfect 6-for-6 on stolen base attempts across 88 plate appearances! It’s a tough matchup against Dylan Cease, but if Jones can find his way on base (.286 AVG, .324 OBP over the last 10 games), he’s got a great chance to add to his stolen base total.

Cease is tied for the league lead with 18 stolen bases allowed, and with Ryan Weathers on the mound for the Yankees, the Blue Jays will likely have Alejandro Kirk behind the dish. Kirk has a below-average 16% caught stealing rate, but Kirk has not thrown out a single base stealer when working with Cease. Not a single one! Zero point zero percent! The Yankees recorded three stolen bases against Cease back on August 16th, and so long as they can get on base, I’d expect similar success today. Jose Caballero and Jazz Chisholm are enticing, too.
