🔥 Best Matchups for Home Runs Today, 9/27: Ballpark Factors & Weather Impact

Again, we have to reiterate that official lineups are a must for MLB home run picks today specifically. That’s an added variable that isn’t usually quite as big of one, but one tool that we use each and every slate is our MLB weather report. It can already be tricky enough to avoid guys that don’t play, so we don’t need weather to ruin that as well.

After all that, we can actually focus on the players themselves. Both pitchers and hitters have overlapping metrics to analyze from expected slugging and ISO to barrel and hard-hit rates and everything in between. Bullpens are also always important for MLB home run picks, especially when tons of starters today may be on short leashes.

Jo Adell (+400)

The Cleveland Guardians haven’t exactly been the most fun to target when it comes to homers (last night aside), especially during the Jose Ramirez and Chase DeLauter injuries way back when. They bolstered the lineup at the trade deadline to help them make the postseason again, and one guy has helped their squad cash more MLB home run picks.

That would be our first target here, who gets to enjoy the playoffs unlike his former team - the Los Angeles Angels. We love seeing him not only against the terrible Kansas City Royals bullpen, but also against Daniel Lynch. He’s a lefty, and Adell’s bat speed has generated a monster .266 ISO vs. southpaws with a .286 expected!

Corey Seager (+350)

If not for missing time due to injury, Dean Kremer may be leading the league in homers allowed. Since you see us target those guys as often as possible - Jeffrey Springs and Aaron Nola, for example - we’re also going to target the Minnesota Twins starter. Speaking of which, he’s not a Baltimore Orioles starter in part due to allowing too many MLB home run picks to cash.

Kremer allows plenty of power to both sides of the plate with a .235 ISO allowed to lefties and a .216 ISO allowed to fellow righties. So, with there being no going wrong in that department, we’ll focus on which Texas Rangers hitter performs best for homers vs. righties. In that regard, we see a .230 expected ISO from the two-time World Series MVP.

After recovering from his terrible start to the season, the lefty is going for #20, so let’s add to our top MLB home run picks today with Corey Seager hitting a HR (+350 at bet365). 

Dylan Crews (+550)

We have yet another non-household name in our final trio of the regular season for some great value. Even if all we wanted was the Washington Nationals lineup, we could have just taken the bigger names of James Wood or CJ Abrams. Well, we’re not, and as much as we love picking on their bullpen, Crews is part of our best MLB home run picks for today.

We’re rolling with the righty rather than the better-known lefties in the Washington lineup, as they’re facing New York Mets starter Sean Manaea. The southpaw starter allows far more power to righties - it’s a .234 ISO! That’s great news for a righty hitter who prefers hitting lefties, as he has a .231 expected ISO against such pitchers.
