🔥 Best Matchups for Home Runs Today, 6/9: Ballpark Factors & Weather Impact
When it comes to how we’ve been able to provide you with so many winning MLB home run picks, there are tons of factors to consider. For starters, our very own MLB weather report is always here for you to pair with some HR/FB ratios of starting pitchers.
Beyond that, we want to dive into some bullpen numbers, hitting metrics like barrel and hard-hit rates as well as lefty/righty splits. Along with some other underlying numbers, here’s how we came up with our best MLB home run picks for today:
Shea Langeliers (+200)
The Brewers vs. Athletics series got started with a bang last night in a 14-13 shootout with some absolute moonshots, but our under-the-radar pick on Jackson Chourio didn’t come through despite his great 3-for-5 night. As for tonight, it’s going to (again) be all about Nick Kurtz for MLB home run picks, but we’re going to do something that we have yet to do.
That would be to target a guy to hit a homer in back-to-back days. We’re doing so because Milwaukee is starting lefty Robert Gasser, and Shea is smashing lefties this season to the tune of .354 with a .738 slugging and 1.138 OPS. We’ve also seen him hit homers in back-to-back games THREE times this season, including his very first two of the season.
We know it’s difficult to expect a guy to go yard twice in a row, but after his 490-footer last night on the first pitch he saw, we’re starting our best MLB home run picks for today with Shea Langeliers to hit a HR (+200 at bet365).
Colson Montgomery (+363)
Given the odds above, we’ll have to chalk the Langeliers pick-up as the chalk pick of the day - pun intended. So, let’s get a bigger potential payout in here by swapping from Las Vegas to Chicago. While it’s not Wrigley Field, the home of the White Sox still has some solid conditions for MLB home run picks with mild out-blowing winds.
With Grant Holmes and Erick Fedde on the mound, both sides have solid opportunities for dingers. We’re going to START with the Chicago side (not really a spoiler, you’ve already seen the names). Holmes has allowed a .445 slugging to lefties this year, including eight homers, and the White Sox southpaw has 12 of his 16 homers vs. righties this season.
It’s not the biggest jump in odds (they’ll keep increasing!), but next up with our top MLB home run picks today, we’ve got Colson Montgomery to hit a HR (+363 at Novig).
Michael Harris (+450)
You already know that the Atlanta lineup is next on the list, and if you’ve been with us from the start of these HR picks, this was our first LONGSHOT winner! That’s right - way back when, Harris was +900 to hit a dinger, and now the price has been slashed in half. It’s for good reason and, most importantly, still valuable enough to be part of our best MLB home run picks for today.
Whether it’s Erick Fedde from the jump, Brandon Eisert opening or otherwise, we aren’t worried about it. If it’s Fedde, Harris is hitting .312 vs. righties with 9 of his 13 homers. He’s also just under .300 vs. lefties, so he’s just been great all around. Clearly, his low-back issue isn’t much of one at all - he had 3 RBI the day after missing just one game to rest last series.
Let’s enjoy more fireworks in the Windy City with our top MLB home run picks and lock in Michael Harris to hit a HR (+450 at BetMGM).
🚀 Longshot Home Run Picks Today
To hook you up with even more value than our favorite targets, we’ve also got today’s top MLB longshot home run pick. Although still unlikely, here’s what’s got our attention tonight:
If you want to stick with Las Vegas or Chicago for an MLB home run longshot pick, we couldn't blame you. For some variety, we’re going to be watching Rangers vs. Royals. KC has 15 mph out-blowing winds plus Nathan Eovaldi’s high HR/FB ratio to help the 3rd baseman. So, let’s lock in Maikel Garcia as our best MLB home run longshot pick tonight!
💲 Today’s Best MLB Home Run Parlay
As if the above wasn’t enough, let’s get even more value in here. While you can just piece together our favorite three targets, how about some new names beyond just our MLB longshot home run pick? Here’s a for-fun parlay to consider:
