Optimal Lineups will be posted by 5:00 PM ET.
Tonight’s main slate features a tiny 3-game slate, so we will not have our traditional Playbook/Rankings.
There’s not many things “optimal” about playing a 3-game slate, but there’s always money to be made. There are a few within the industry who have hit some of their biggest scores during the Playoffs where three and four game slates are very common.
If you’re doing cash games, there isn’t much reason to do anything crazy, but if you’re playing GPPs, tonight is a good night to try a bunch of unorthodox moves like play pitchers from the same game, stack players who are not connected in the lineup (e.g. 1-4-7-9), or underdogs.
Some of the better plays tonight from a BvP perspective include:
Wilmer Flores: Has seen two pitches against Jose Urena. He took the first pitch, and homered on the second.
Christian Yelich: 9-for-24 (.375 AVG) with a couple doubles, lifetime, against Jacob deGrom.
Anthony Rizzo: The only time he faced Jeff Samardzija, he went 1-for-2 (.500 AVG) with a homer and a walk.
Brian Dozier: 5-for-9 (.556 AVG) with two homers, a double, and four RBIs this season against Jose Quintana.
Adam Eaton: 5-for-13 (.385 AVG) with a homer and double throughout his career against Ervin Santana.
Avisail Garcia: 3-for-8 (.375 AVG) with a homer, double, and three runs scored this season against Ervin Santana.
Justin Morneau: Four of his seven career hits against Ervin Santana have gone out of the park.
As always, any changes I make will be in RED FONT below. Good luck!
UPDATE #1: DraftKings Hybrid (5:00 PM ET)
OUT: Alex Avila, Jose Reyes, Asdrubal Cabrera, and Yoenis Cespedes
IN: Buster Posey, Wilmer Flores, Addison Russell and Michael Conforto
Had to pivot from Cabrera and Cespedes since they are out of the lineup. Also wanted to get Conforto in the lineup. He has been swinging a super hot bat in Triple A-Las Vegas.
UPDATE #2: FanDuel Hybrid (5:00 PM ET)
OUT: Alex Avila, Jose Reyes, Asdrubal Cabrera, and Byron Buxton
IN: David Ross, Wilmer Flores, Addison Russell, and Michael Conforto
Had to pivot from Cabrera since he is out of the lineup. Also wanted to get Conforto in the lineup. He has been swinging a super hot bat in Triple A-Las Vegas.
