League of Legends Championship Series

June 17th, 2022

Jensen (C9: MID) 2.5 kills v EG - OVER

He returns! The LCS single-game kill record holder is making his triumphant return to the league and doing it with his first NA organization, Cloud9. I think EG has the benefit of having a short memory when it comes to mistakes in-game but it means this team plays really fast and loose. The presence of constant fighting means Jensen (who has a high priority when it comes to scrapping with his teammates early) will have a ton of opportunities to hit his 3 kills needed for this line.

Maple (TSM: MID) 2 kills v 100 Thieves- OVER

In the wake of the worst split for TSM in their organization’s history, management sought to add a flashy piece to save this roster. With Maple coming to NA, there is a lot of expectations on him to perform and historically TSM will play heavily through their mid-laner. I fully expect TSM to draft for Maple and rely (to a fault is my future prediction) on him to carry the team. This being said, I think TSM will pick up kills against a sometimes inconsistent 100 Thieves side and most of those kills will be funneled onto the imported mid-laner.

Bjergsen (TL: Mid ) 3.5 Kills v IMT- UNDER

Don’t think I am faking you out with this pick. I think TL is going to roll over Immortals in this matchup. What I am not confident in is that Bjergsen is going to be the player that will pick up the kills. Team Liquid has four legitimate carry players in their lineup and this means you are splitting the kills across more people on the team. I think Immortal’s strongest player (PowerOfEvil) is their mid-laner, a player who rarely gives up early kills in the laning phase. This means that Bjergsen will need to either roam or pick up kills in the later game, which is significantly more difficult to pull off.
