League of Legends Fantasy Value Breakdown

Series #1: Liiv SANDBOX v Kwangdong Freecs

Game Breakdown: Over the course of the Spring Split and the Mid-Season break, it seems like LSB has gotten a better grip on who they are. The addition of Prince and defining who will be playing the solo lane roles both have helped give this squad some direction. I think that they will run into the issue of struggling to keep up against more mechanically skilled teams because they won’t have the same macro background as top teams. This will most likely happen here. KDF have advantages across the board, the largest of which is Teddy. Their bottom lane threat has been on fire in his first two series with an 8.0 KDA and an 80% team kill participation.

Favorite Picks: Teddy (KDF: $11,400/$7,600), FATE (KDF: $7,400), Hoit (KDF: $5,800)

Value Picks: Prince (LSB: $6,600), Croco (LSB: $6,000)

Cann’s Match Pick: Kwangdong Freecs (2-0)

Series #2: T1 Esports v Nongshim RedForce

Game Breakdown: In the LCK space, T1 Esports set the standard for excellence in the the Spring Split. Going undefeated in all series played in Spring, T1 went into the Mid-Season Invitational as a fan favorite to win the event. At the tournament a lot of flaws within the T1 gameplan were shown, especially with their choices of champions, and this may make the LCK much closer. That being said, that will not be felt against NS RedForce. NS was worked over pretty easily and outside of their jungler (Dread) they really didn’t have too much going for them. The raw skill out of T1’s Gumayusi, Oner, and Zeus should be more than enough to dismantle the lackluster side of NS.

Favorite Picks: Gumayusi (T1: $11,100/$7,400), Zeus (T1: $6,200) T1 Esports ($5,400)

Value Picks: Bdd (NS: $6,000), Dread (NS: $5,600)

Cann’s Match Pick: T1 Esports (2-0)

Series #3: Edward Gaming v JD Gaming

Game Breakdown: This has to be the most electric matchup of the slate with two top-of-the-table teams squaring off. Both teams are performing so well that it was actually somewhat hard to pick a winner. This should be a nice matchup to pick off good players for good value. Grabbing someone like Hope (JDG’s ADC) would be a huge boost to you, even if it ends up being a series loss. Scout is normally a player I like to look out for on EDG but we have seen a few times where he has been caught out of position with regularity which could open up some value with picking up Yagao (JDG mid laner) or Kanavi (JDG jungler). I cannot emphasize this enough, this is a must-see series we have on Friday.

Favorite Picks: Viper (EDG: $7,200), Meiko (EDG: $5,600)

Value Picks: Hope (JDG: $10,500/$7,000), Kanavi (JDG: $6,400), JD Gaming ($4,600)

Cann’s Match Pick: Edward Gaming (2-1)

Series #4: Royal Never Give Up v FunPlus Phoenix

Game Breakdown: RNG could not have drawn up a better opening opponent for their Summer Split opening. FPX has struggled to get their feet wet and gain any real traction with their new roster additions and shifts in the coaching staff. RNG looked almost untouchable in their MSI championship run and should carry most of that success with them into the new split. The biggest question mark here is what to do with their new top laner, Breathe. Breathe is probably one of the most individually skilled top laners in the world and will allow the squad to add a new wrinkle to their gameplan. This will take a lot of pressure off of their main carry, Gala, and give Wei another lane to attack early. The high price point with RNG players feels worth it in this matchup.

Favorite Picks: Gala (RNG: $7,800), Xiaohu (RNG: $11,400/$7,600), Breathe (RNG: $6,400)

Value Picks: Clid (FPX: $5,800), Care (FPX: $6,200)

Cann’s Match Pick: Royal Never Give Up (2-0)
