Friday will bring the League of Legends community the triumphant return of the European Championship Series and G2 coming back from the Mid-Season Invitational with hopes of defending their crown. Most of the shifts in this split can be found in the bottom tier teams, the most drastically changed being Team BDS. With an almost entirely new lineup, BDS Looks to recapture the magic they had surrounding their entrance into the pro-scene. Many players can set the tone for the entire split in this super-weekend of matches, so look for stand-out performances on highly mechanically skilled players. Let’s dive into our League of Legends DFS picks!

League of Legends Fantasy Value Breakdown
Game #1: Team Vitality v MAD Lions
Game Breakdown: This is the perfect let-down game for Team Vitality. They very unceremoniously bow out of the Spring Split playoffs as their entire roster of All-Stars underperformed throughout the split. They have brought in another jungler to replace/challenge SelfMade but I think the problems will continue for this team. Their largest problem in Spring was a lack of identity and Haru isn’t about to fix that. Look for the new MAD mid-laner (Nisqy) to bring a level of stability to this young lineup and be an avenue to win through by having drafts centered around his playstyle.
Favorite Picks: Perkz (VIT: $7,400), Alphari (VIT: $6,400)
Value Picks: Nisqy (MAD: $6,200), Unforgiven (MAD: $6,400), Kaiser (MAD: $4,800)
Cann’s Match Pick: MAD Lions
Game #2: Team BDS v SK Gaming
Game Breakdown: With teams having different trajectories moving into the mid-season break, BDS and SK had two very different approaches to their teams. BDS scrubbed much of the previous roster but not one of the biggest liabilities, xMatty. How they replaced some players and not one of the worst ADCs in the league is beyond me. He is facing off against Jezu on Friday, who should have a complete field day with the inexperienced bottom lane of Team BDS. Maybe BDS can grow into a better team this split but the experience that SK has should be more than enough to win the day.
Favorite Picks: Jezu (SK: $11,400/$7,600) Gilius (SK: $6,600), Treatz (SK: $5,400)
Value Picks: Nuclearint (BDS: $6,600)
Cann’s Match Pick: SK Gaming
Game #3: Misfits v Excel Gaming
Game Breakdown: The biggest downfall to the Spring Split playoffs for Misfits was not the fact that they ended up losing and not making a deeper run. The problem was the shortcomings of their roster were so incredibly exposed. Vetheo is the sole reason this team ended up in 4th place for the regular season in Spring. Their jungler, Shlatan, was wildly exposed for playing one champion really well and looking completely lost on other picks. I am not saying that XL is perfect, but their primary carry (Patrik) has far more to work with. I even think his mid-laner (Nukeduck) is skilled enough to contain Vetheo and allow others to pop off on Friday.
Favorite Picks: Patrik (XL: $10,800/$), Markoon (XL: $7,000), Finn (XL: $5,800)
Value Picks: Vetheo (MSF: $6,800), Misfits ($4,600)
Cann’s Match Pick: Excel Gaming
Game #4: G2 Esports v Astralis
Game Breakdown: Another MSI participant, another dream opener in an opponent. Astralis is almost assuredly the last-place team in the LEC this split. G2 looked shaky in their exit from MSI, but had some really high points that they emotionally can hang their hats on. Caps looked like the greatest Western player again and BrokenBlade had some really solid performances against really good opponents. For Astralis, look for Kobbe (ADC) to get most of the resources but fail to get any substantial help during teamfights. If the changes to the game (an overall increase to tankiness) will help any player, it will be Kobbe.
Favorite Picks: Caps (G2: $7,800), BrokenBlade (G2: $6,800), Targamas (G2: $6,400)
Value Picks: Kobbe (AST: $6,000)
Cann’s Match Pick: G2 Esports
Game #5: Rogue v Fnatic
Game Breakdown: This could have been the Spring Split Finals if it had not been for G2’s hot streak. Rogue will most likely win this because they are the champions of the regular season. Larssen, Rogue’s mid-laner, is a staple of this league and he will be the deciding factor here. His lane/wave management style will fit into the current state of the game and he will put tremendous pressure on Humanoid (FNC mid-laner) to make plays to get an advantage. It is this process of stretching that will cause Humanoid to make mistakes and Rogue will capitalize then. I like FNC’s experienced bottom lane in Upset and Hylissang. These two will be the win-condition for FNC and should come at a discounted price that is solely due to their competition.
Favorite Picks: Larssen (RGE: $11,400/$), Comp (RGE: $), Malrang (RGE: $6,800)
Value Picks: Upset (FNC: $7,000), Hylissang (FNC: $4,600), Fnatic ($4,200)
Cann’s Match Pick: Rogue
