Yet another Yankees prospect made a splash at the show Friday night. Jonathan Loaisiga may not have been the most well-known name down on the Pinstriper’s farm, but after tossing five scoreless frames in his MLB debut against the Rays, he has certainly gained substantial notoriety. Loaisiga fired 91 pitches (57 strikes) en route to his first big-league victory, allowing three hits and four walks while striking out six along the way.

In Case You Missed It

In support of Loaisiga’s effort, Didi Gregorius put together a 3-for-4 night that included his third home run in the last three games. The Yankees shortstop now has five multi-hit performances over his last five games, going 8-for-17 overall during that span.

Paul Goldschmidt continues to rake, as he went 3-for-5 with a homer during Friday’s win over the Mets. During his current 11-game hitting streak, Goldy has completely turned his season around, going 24-of-46 with six homers, six doubles, and 14 RBI.

Evan Gattis is another slugger that struggled early on this season but has really picked it up lately. The Houston DH and occasional catcher launched a Grand Slam in Friday’s 7-3 win at Kansas City on Friday to give him a ridiculous six home runs and 20 RBI over his last nine games.

Saturday on the Hill

Sticking with the Astros, Dallas Keuchel is in dire need of a solid outing against the Royals on Saturday. The 2015 Cy Young Award winner was tagged for six runs (five earned) on 13 hits on the road versus the Rangers this past Sunday and holds a 7.33 ERA over his last five starts.

Opposing Keuchel will be fellow lefty Danny Duffy . Duffy is on an entirely opposite trajectory, as he is coming off his strongest outing of the campaign to date. Last Saturday at Oakland, Duffy cruised through 7.0 shutout innings, surrendering just three hits and three walks while punching out a season-high 10 batters.

Over his last two starts, Carlos Carrasco has allowed only one run on 10 hits while putting up an incredibly impressive 21-to-2 K/BB ratio across 14.0 innings. This stretch has served as a rebound for the 31-year-old righty after he was knocked around for six earned runs on seven hits in 3.2 innings at Minnesota back on June 1. Carrasco will get another shot at the Twins on Saturday afternoon in Cleveland.
