Carlos Carrasco lasted only three-plus innings Wednesday versus the Yankees, getting charged with four runs.

It was an odd start to this one, as the game was delayed by rain before first pitch and again in the middle of the bottom of the first inning. Carrasco served up a home run to Giancarlo Stanton, who was the second batter he faced following the in-game delay, but rebounded to retire five of the next six batters he faced. The righty allowed a leadoff triple in the fourth on a ball that was misplayed by center fielder Delino DeShields and then walked back-to-back hitters to load the bases. Interim skipper Sandy Alomar elected to pull Carrasco at that point in favor of James Karinchak, who promptly gave up a go-ahead grand slam to Gio Urshela. Carrasco threw 73 pitches over his three-plus frames, so it’s hard to blame Alomar here, especially when factoring in the rain delay. Oct 01 1:43 am (EST)
