2023 Player Outlook

Playing behind Bijan Robinson could have been enough to relegate anyone to mediocrity, but Roschon Johnson still managed to put up an impressive stat line, averaging nearly six yards per carry and finding the end zone six times in his final year at Texas. It looks like Chicago's backfield could be wide open after the departure of David Montgomery, with Khalil Herbert's pass-blocking struggles and D'Onta Foreman's age, and if Johnson has a good camp, he could find himself in the starting role sooner than later. The Bears will still likely take a heavy committee approach, but with the rushing volume, everyone in this backfield could have week-to-week value.
