Panthers signed TE Dan Arnold, formerly of the Cardinals, to a two-year, $6.0 million contract.
Arnold isn't a fit for every offense because he's a low-end blocker, but the former undrafted free agent has some legit skills as a receiving tight end and had a connection to OC Joe Brady from their New Orleans days. He has a career 9.2 yards per target average and quietly had 438 receiving yards as a part-timer with the Cardinals last year. Only 26 years old, Arnold has some deep-league sleeper appeal as the Panthers' top receiving option at the position. Ian Thomas, who only had 145 yards as the Panthers' tight end last year, will likely head into a backup role. Mar 19 9:23 pm (EST)
