ESPN's Vaughn McClure reports Austin Hooper's deal with the Browns is for four years and $44 million, and includes $23 million guaranteed.

It does indeed make Hooper the highest-paid tight end in the league, at least until George Kittle signs an extension. Franchise tagged Hunter Henry could also top it if he signs a multi-year deal. By no means should Hooper be the league's highest-paid tight end, or even top three, but it is all about when you hit the market. The cap is rising and teams have had money to burn. Hooper will be more of a mid-range/back-end TE1 in Cleveland than the top 5-6 option he was in 2019. Mar 16 2:22 pm (EST)
