Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that Derrick Jones Jr. is expected to be a "sought-after unrestricted free agent" this offseason.
While Jones Jr. had a solid regular season, posting averages of 8.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.6 blocks per game, he was largely absent from the Heat rotation during the team's run to the NBA Finals. But that isn't expected to deter other teams from making a run at the bouncy forward, as Charania reports that Atlanta, Charlotte and Cleveland are three that are "expected to express interest" in Jones Jr. On the heels of a career season in which he earned $1.66 million, DJJ stands to receive a nice salary boost come November.
