2025 Player Outlook
Hodge went 9-for-12 in save opportunities last year, posting a 1.88 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and 31.7 percent strikeout rate across 43 IP. Recency bias can be powerful, but he ended the 2024 campaign with a 0.90 ERA and 11.7 K/9 over his final 20 IP, notching eight saves and four holds during that impressive run. His sweeper registered a 51.8 percent whiff rate and .070 BAA last season, and that will be his bread-and-butter for 2025. He heads to spring training as the frontrunner for the ninth inning role in Chicago, and the Cubs have the makings of a very good squad in 2025. So long as he can keep his walk rate in check, he has a great chance for 30+ saves and a strikeout rate that will flirt with 28-30 percent. Great selection at ADP.
