2025 Player Outlook
After posting a 4.62 ERA and 1.29 WHIP with 86 strikeouts across 64.1 IP at the Triple-A level, Burke was a late season call up for the White Sox in 2024. Across four appearances (3 GS), Burke posted a 1.42 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 28.9 percent strikeout rate. His walk issues carried over from the minors, but his slider remained excellent, posting a 43.2 percent whiff rate. His changeup is an effective weapon to neutralize left-handed hitters, and he should have a spot in the rotation to open the year. Burke can probably handle 125-140 IP this year, providing fantasy managers with an ERA in the mid-4s While he should pace for more than a strikeout per inning, his WHIP will likely be elevated due to a below average walk rate.
