2023 Player Outlook
Mervis is not the most well-known name in this lineup, but fantasy baseball managers should know the name, Matt Mervis. Between Double-A and Triple-A last year, Mervis hit 29 home runs with 75 runs scored, 80 RBI, and a .298 average. He’s done a great job of cutting back on strikeouts as he progressed through the minors, but the Cubs didn't keep him on the big league squad to begin the season. While he'll start the year in the minors, once he gets his opportunity, Mervis will endear himself to many fantasy managers, because he has the tools to hit for plus power with a quality batting average. He's a name to keep on your radar for when he gets the call this season.
