2024 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: Westburg’s average exit velocity, launch angle and hard-hit rate suggest that he’s a slugger in the making, but his minor league power numbers (45 home runs in his last two minor league seasons) didn’t carry over in his short stint in the big leagues. Oriole Park at Camden Yards was the third toughest stadium for right-handed batters like Westburg to hit home runs. Based on Westburg’s home/away splits he might have to go the opposite field a bit more to tap into his built-in power.

2024 Outlook: Ramon Urias will probably steal some at-bats from him from time to time, but Westburg will likely get the majority of playing time at second base for the O’s this season. Look for a ceiling of 15 home runs and a .260 batting average as he continues to progress and grows accustomed to hitting against big league pitching this season.
