2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: Johnson hasn't seen a lot of time at the major league level, and across 67 plate appearances, he's hit just .148 with a sky-high strikeout rate. He's run rampant during his career in the minors, and he has plenty of speed to provide some solid stolen base numbers at the game's highest level. However, there are concerns about his hit tool in the majors, and the early returns have been less than inspiring.

2024 Outlook: The Padres' outfield, sans Fernando Tatis Jr., is one of the weakest in the league from an offensive standpoint, so Johnson has a chance to earn some playing time, likely in some sort of platoon situation. Outside of some speed, there's more questions than answers with Johnson, making him an easy fade on draft day.
