2025 Player Outlook

Vargas can play a few different positions, but he should see a ton of ABs as a designated hitter for the White Sox. Vargas never quite figured it out with the Dodgers, though the change of scenery didn't do him any immediate favors, as he slashed just .104/.217/.170 in 135 ABs in Chicago. He doesn't strike out a ton and a high walk rate makes him slightly more intriguing in leagues that value OBP, but an underwhelming batted ball profile otherwise limits his fantasy upside. He's yet to figure it out at the MLB level, but AL-only managers should be intrigued by the skillset, as there's no reason for Chicago to take the 25-year-old out of the lineup.
