2023 Player Outlook
India was in and out of the lineup last year, playing in just 103 games, and posting a .249/.327/.378 slash line with 10 home runs and three stolen bases (4 CS). He went on the injured list twice for a hamstring injury and had some foot ailments, but one would think after stealing 12 bases in his rookie season, he’d be willing to run more in 2023 if healthy. India is a polarizing fantasy player in 2023, and if you believe that the injuries and lack of rhythm disrupted his 2022 season, you’re likely going to be in on India this year. However, the naysayers will look at the reduction of his batted ball metrics and more swings out of the zone as the main reasons why he won’t get back to the 2021 version of himself. It’s a great home park, and India is still plenty young, so there are plenty of reasons to bet on India in 2023. If all goes well, he’ll return to the 20/10 club with a .255+ batting average.
