2022 Player Outlook
Trivino converted on 22 of 26 save opportunities last season alongside a 3.18 ERA (3.78 FIP) and 8.19 K/9. He ramped up his sinker usage, and while opponents hit it at a .329 clip, the xBA of .272 and how frequent it induces ground balls leads me to believe that it will come back down in 2022. He keeps the ball out of the air for the most part, but his rough end of the year might leave a bad taste in the mouth of some fantasy managers. Over his first 44 innings of work, he logged 14 saves with a 1.84 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. However, over the rest of the season, he posted a far worse 5.16 ERA and 1.38 WHIP. Oakland has a solid pitching staff that should keep ball games close, and Trivino has some upside, especially as a locked-in closer at his current draft price.
