2022 Player Outlook

While the power was there for Muncy in 2020, the batting average wasn’t. Luckily, he did bounce back in 2021 with 36 home runs, 95 runs scored and 94 RBI. He’s much better suited in OBP leagues. In 2021, he only hit .249 but had a .368 OBP since he does draw walks at roughly a 15% rate in his career. He’ll turn 32 in August but that doesn’t seem to slow him down. In his last three full seasons he’s hit at least 30 home runs while touting a mediocre batting average. But he’s great for counting statistics and with the bats ahead of him, there will be plenty of runner to drive in for 2022. Muncy’s going around the top 100 players heading into this season and he offers eligibility a first, second, and third base. Expect another 30-home run season with a great on-base percentage.
