Liberty vs. Fever Predictions For WNBA On CBS, 5/24
If there were ever a WNBA matchup for those looking for star power, this is it. From the Fever’s back-to-back #1 overall picks Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston to New York’s Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu, there are household names all over the court.
That’s without even mentioning last year’s WNBA Finals MVP Jonquel Jones, and speaking of which, this is also a matchup between the top two favorites to win the 2025 WNBA Finals. We’ve got a long way to go for that, and it’s Indiana that needs to get over the hump - they lost three of four meetings with the Liberty last season.
Of course, Indiana loading up this offseason should help them get some revenge, but it’s still going to be a tall task. The Liberty are coming in riding high, winning their first two games of the year by a combined 39 points. The Fever coming in 2-1 is nothing to ignore either, but this will easily be their biggest test thus far.
So much anticipation for this game has it featured on CBS this afternoon, and we’ve found a spot we love for the best bet from our Liberty vs. Fever predictions.
New York Liberty: Already Setting Records
Just months after becoming WNBA champions and in just their second game of the 2025 season, Sabrina Ionescu and company have already set a WNBA record. They did so against the Sky in their dominant victory by making 19 three-pointers! That’s only fitting just prior to taking on Caitlin Clark in the Fever.
To be clear, this is a regular season record - the Las Vegas Aces hold the record overall for 22 in the playoff game. Regardless, New York had eight different players hit from deep against Chicago, and oh yeah - their first game of the year was one just as dominant against the Aces, taking them down 92-78.
Indiana Fever: Fueling Their Revenge
We mentioned that the Fever need to get some revenge over the Liberty from last season, but they also had much more recent revenge to deal with. After falling to the Atlanta Dream at home on Tuesday night, they quickly bounced back by taking down that same Dream team on the road Thursday night.
Who we need to keep an eye on to help them get over the hump against New York isn’t Caitlin Clark - it’s Natasha Howard. In the Fever’s loss to the Dream, she had her worst game with just six points. To help them get their revenge, she bounced back with 24. With DeWanna Bonner’s scoring non-existent (zero and one point the past two games), they need offense elsewhere.
Liberty vs. Fever Odds, Spreads, Total & Betting Lines
Even with Indiana back at home, it’s no surprise that the Liberty vs. Fever odds at FanDuel Sportsbook have them as underdogs against the defending champs:
- Point Spread: New York Liberty -3.5 (-110) vs. Indiana Fever +3.5 (-110)
- Money Line: New York Liberty (-185) vs. Indiana Fever (+150)
- Game Total (Over/Under): Over 173.5 (-110) vs. Under 173.5 (-110)
Liberty vs. Fever Best Bet: Caitlin Clark Over 3.5 Made Threes (-115 At FanDuel Sportsbook)
Through the Fever’s first three games, we’ve found other approaches and ways to add value to their games outside of Caitlin Clark. She’s such a polarizing figure in the WNBA that more often than not, her prop market lines are inflated.
However, we see a spot that we’re willing to target today. In that regard, we’re expecting Caitlin Clark to bounce back from deep. In an absolute anomaly of a game on Thursday night, she didn’t hit a single three-pointer! That’s something that didn’t happen all of last season, so we expect her to come out firing.
After all, she certainly didn’t shy away from the Liberty last year; in four meetings against Brenna Stewart in company, Caitlin Clark shot double-digit three-pointers in the most recent three of them. So, the volume will be there, and in terms of converting them, the last game was also an anomaly in that respect.
Caitlin Clark made 4+ threes in the Fever’s other games this year, and she should be even more fired up to do so, seeing Liberty’s WNBA record for threes on Thursday night. Lastly, this is a line that virtually always has a far more expensive price around -140 or so.
Everything above adds up to us locking in the best bet from our Liberty vs. Fever picks on Caitlin Clark over 3.5 made threes (-115 at FanDuel Sportsbook).
