DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

There are some genuinely great matchups for DFS today. Of note, the Colombus Blue Jackets are facing the Buffalo Sabres in Buffalo. The Blue Jackets have given up a league-high 4.83 goals per game over the last two weeks. Not to be outdone, the St. Louis Blues are in Tampa to face the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Blues are just behind the Blue Jackets in goals allowed at 4.17 goals per game allowed. Other matchups to keep an eye on are the Colorado Avalanche at the Chicago Blackhawks and the Los Angeles Kings at the San Jose Sharks. Those could also be high-scoring games.

Recommended DFS Starting Goalies,

Top Options for Saves

Ilya Sorokin vs Edmonton Oilers

Mackenzie Blackwood vs Los Angeles Kings

Andrei Vasilevskiy vs St. Louis Blues

Best Odds for a Win

Cam Talbot vs San Jose Sharks

Alexandar Georgiev vs Chicago Blackhawks

Linus Ullmark vs Minnesota Wild

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups

Cam Talbot, G, Los Angeles Kings

In cash games, Talbot is a solid pick. The Kings are yet to lose on the road, and if they show up for the game, they shouldn't lose in San Jose tonight. You will need to pay up for Talbot but he is likely as safe of a pick as you will get in goal today.

Ilya Sorokin, G, New York Islanders

Anytime you play a goalie against the Oilers you are taking on considerable risk. With that said, the reward is there. Sorokin has been at his best this season when he has faced a lot of shots (the Oilers shoot more than any team), and most people will avoid him because of the matchup so you get the upside and Sorokin likely won't have much ownership.

Joonas Korpisalo G, Ottawa Senators

With Ottawa changing coaches it is hard to say what else might change about their structure (or lack thereof). What we do know though is the Coyotes have scored the least amount of goals per game over the last two weeks (1.83), and Korpisalo has also played better on the road than he has at home.

Recommended DFS Skaters

Highest Expected Goal Totals

Los Angeles Kings vs Mackenzie Blackwood (4.2)

Colorado Avalanche vs Petr Mrazek (4.1)

Buffalo Sabres vs Elvis Merzlikins (3.8)

Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups

Nathan MacKinnon, C, Colorado Avalanche

It has now been over a month since MacKinnon had a game without a point, and he has multi-point games in four straight games. Chicago is a great matchup for him to keep his point streak going as they have given up the 4th most goals of any team this season.

Steven Stamkos, W, Tampa Bay Lightning

Stamkos has five goals in his last two games, and he will get a great matchup against the Blues today, who (as previously noted) are giving up the second most goals per game over the last two weeks.

Trevor Moore, W, Los Angeles Kings

Coming into today Moore has 15 shots in his last two games. His price is a little high, but if he is going to shoot that often he is going to be worth the cost especially against San Jose as the Kings could score six goals today.

Jakob Chychrun D, Ottawa Senators

Chychrun has points in four of his last five games. He is always a threat to get five shots or more, and he will block shots for you also. There are lots of defensive options today, and Chychrun is a great option for a player who can far exceed his value.
