NFL DFS Week 4 WR Coach For FanDuel & DraftKings Fantasy

When constructing your Week 4 daily fantasy football lineups, there are going to be some interesting decisions to be made. First and foremost, we have some notable offenses that aren’t featured on the main slate, including the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens

Furthermore, we only have two games with a line of at least 47 points, and there are five games on the main slate with a line of 40 or below! With that in mind, how is this NFL DFS Week 4 WR Coach planning to attack the position for our lineups on FanDuel and DraftKings?

NFL Week 4 Wide Receivers

As we look at the wide receiver position, there are obviously a couple of teams that we’ll gravitate towards, like Arizona, as they draw the super friendly Washington defense. Marvin Harrison has arrived, and now gets an incredibly good matchup, so don’t be surprised to see some high ownership on him.

The Houston Texans get to face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and after a horrible showing in Week 3, this is a perfect get-right game for the Houston passing attack, and in this game is where you’ll find my best DFS WR play of the week.

As I mentioned earlier in this NFL DFS Week 4 WR Coach, there are a whopping five games with a line at or below 40 points, but fortunately, we do have a couple of potential shootouts on the board, and we’ll hope for a fantasy bonanza in those games.

NFL DFS WR Coach Week 3 Results

Shoutout Jon Impempa for stepping in for me last week, and he certainly delivered. From the top plays, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Marvin Harrison put up solid numbers, but CeeDee Lamb fell a little short of expectations.

In the mid-tier, Devonta Smith and Chris Olave provided a solid return on investment, but Brandon Aiyuk was outshined by Jauan Jennings. Diontae Johnson was the diamond in the rough from the value plays.

Lastly, if you faded Mike Evans and Tyreek Hill like Jon recommended, your lineups certainly benefited.

NFL DFS WR Top Tier Picks For Week 4

Marvin Harrison, Arizona Cardinals - DraftKings: $7,500 | FanDuel: $8,200

Week 1, who? MARV IS HERE!!! Over the last two weeks, he has 55.2 percent of the team’s air yards, a massive 32.7 percent target share, and he’s the WR5 in PPR, per Fantasy Points’ Data Suite.

In Week 4, he gets to face the friendliest secondary to wide receivers so far this year in the Washington Commanders, and Washington has been victimized by perimeter receivers. Well, Harrison primarily lines up on the outside, and if Jayden Daniels plays like he did in Week 3, points will be scored in this one, and Harrison will flirt with being the WR1 overall in Week 4.

If Trey McBride misses this game, not only does Harrison’s ceiling (and floor) go up, but Michael Wilson becomes an intriguing play in a great matchup at a reduced cost.

Rashee Rice, Kansas City Chiefs - DraftKings: $7,300 | FanDuel: $8,500

At this point, how can you not play Rice? He’s the WR2 in fantasy football this year (PPR), he’s the top dog in a Patrick Mahomes-led offense, and he has either 100 yards or a touchdown in each game this season.

The Chargers have been tough on wide receivers this year from the perspective of fantasy output, but Rice has been one of the best receivers out of the slot so far in 2024, and historically speaking, Patrick Mahomes has destroyed the Chargers.

In 10 career games against the Chargers, Mahomes is 8-2 with a 25:6 TD/INT ratio, and if that sort of dominance continues, it’ll be because Rice had another big day through the air.

Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals - DraftKings: $7,700 | FanDuel: $9,200

Carolina has fared better in covering slot receivers compared to boundary guys, and we just saw Ja'Marr Chase go OFF on Monday Night Football in Week 3.

In Week 3, he hauled in six of seven targets for 118 yards and two scores, and if Andy Dalton can put up points like he did last week, we could be in store for another shootout with the Bengals.

If that’s the case, the Bengals will scheme Chase open, and ensure he gets the ball, resulting in big time fantasy production. I don’t love the price point on FanDuel for Chase, if I must admit.

Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings - DraftKings: $8,700 | FanDuel: $9,400

The guy is quarterback proof, and Sam Darnold’s knee doesn’t seem to be a major concern. He’s scored in every game this season, and he’s averaging seven targets per game.

Kevin O’Connell does a great job maximizing the talent of his offensive weapons, and Darnold knows where the football needs to go, and that is to Jefferson.

The star receiver will be heavily used in this matchup, and his healthy blend of high floor and elite ceiling makes him an ideal DFS target, no matter the matchup.

NFL DFS WR Mid-Tier Picks For NFL Week 4

Rashid Shaheed, New Orleans Saints - DraftKings: $5,500 | FanDuel: $6,100

Atlanta’s Dee Alford has been brutal in slot coverage this year, allowing all but one target to be caught and a 137.2 passer rating when targeted, per Pro Football Focus

Shaheed has the most targets out of the slot for the Saints this year, and I expect him to feast against Alford, en route to a big play or two in this divisional showdown. To be fair, Shaheed’s slot reps haven’t resulted in a ton of success, but this is a matchup worth exploiting.

George Pickens, Pittsburgh Steelers - DraftKings: $5,700 | FanDuel: $6,100

Pittsburgh doesn’t employ a high-volume passing attack, but they can move the ball, sustain drives, and it’s such a good matchup for Pickens. The Colts have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to wideouts thus far in 2024, and they have been brutal against perimeter receivers.

Well, Pickens lines up on the outside well more than half of the time and again, albeit a low passing volume, he commands a healthy 24 percent target share. Don’t be surprised if a simple slant or a juicy double move on the outside leads to a long score from Pickens in this one.

Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - DraftKings: $6,800 | FanDuel: $7,300

Mike Evans has gone a bit quiet of late, and Godwin has a 29.3 percent target share through the first couple weeks of the season. Slot Godwin is back, and so are the big time numbers!

The Bucs square off with the Eagles in Week 4, and not only have the Eagles allowed the sixth-most fantasy points overall to wide receivers, but slot receivers have given them some issues this year, a la Jayden Reed in Week 1, and Drake London and Darnell Mooney combined to catch 11 of 12 targets for 84 yards and a TD in Week 2.

Godwin has at least eight targets and one touchdown in each game this season, and this is a very good matchup for him to extend that streak to four.

Diontae Johnson, Carolina Panthers - DraftKings: $5,600 | FanDuel: $6,200

In the team’s first game with Andy Dalton under center, Johnson had a career day, hauling in eight of a team-high 13 targets for 122 yards and one touchdown. Per Fantasy Points Data Suite, Johnson was the team’s first read on 44.8 percent of passes, which is a MASSIVE number!

His price point is still very affordable, and this game could see some points scored, forcing Dalton to continue to air it out. The pricing will catch up to Johnson, but in Week 4, he’s still a great value, especially being sub-$6K on DraftKings with its PPR scoring.

NFL Week 4 DFS WR Value Picks

Brian Thomas, Jacksonville Jaguars - DraftKings: $5,400 | FanDuel: $5,800

Houston boasts some tough corners on the outside in Derek Stingley and Kamari Lassiter, but the perimeter is where receivers have had more success, not as much out of the slot. Jalen Pitre, Houston’s primary slot corner, has allowed under six yards per reception thus far, per PFF, whereas the story has been a little different on the perimeter, especially when Houston sits off in coverage.

Game script bodes well for the Jacksonville passing attack, and in the two games Evan Engram has missed, Thomas is tied for team lead in targets, and leads in yards per route run (2.12), and receiving yards per game (71). Houston should be leading most of this game, forcing Jacksonville to throw it, and if Thomas can get eight targets against the Houston secondary, I like him to get us 2-3x value in return.

DeMario Douglas, New England Patriots - DraftKings: $4,500 | FanDuel: $5,100

I can’t trust Douglas – or any New England Patriot for that fact – in cash games, but to be contrarian in a multi-entry tournament, I don’t hate Douglas this week. He played a season high 83 percent of the snaps last week, resulting in seven grabs on nine targets for 69 yards.

The majority of his damage was done out of the slot, including a healthy 2.72 yards per route run, per Pro Football Focus. New England will be trailing early and often to San Francisco, and slot receivers have given the 49ers fits this year.

Slot receivers have been good against the 49ers, and if you want to go a little off the beaten path, Douglas has a path to success in this matchup.

Luke McCaffrey, Washington Commanders - DraftKings: $4,000 | FanDuel: $4,900

McLaurin got the long receptions last week, but McCaffrey quietly played the third-most snaps of any Washington receiver, and this game could be a potential shootout, as I’m confident Arizona will move the ball at will against Washington.

Operating out of the slot, McCaffrey will arguably have the best matchup on the field for Washington, and Jayden Daniels has a 102.5 passer rating when targeting McCaffrey out of the slot, per PFF, which is his highest number with any wide receiver.

Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears - DraftKings: $5,200 | FanDuel: $6,400

I certainly don’t expect that much passing volume from Caleb Williams again this week, but there was a lot to like with Odunze in Week 3. He commanded nearly half of the team’s air yards, and now draws a juicy matchup with a porous Los Angeles Rams secondary in Week 4.

Perimeter receivers have given L.A. fits this year, err, all receivers have given the Rams fits in 2024. Only the Commanders and Lions have allowed more fantasy points per game to wideouts thus far in 2024 than the Rams. I’ll save a couple of bucks from DJ Moore to target Odunze in this matchup.

NFL DFS WR Fades For Week 4

Garrett Wilson, New York Jets - DraftKings: $6,900 | FanDuel: $7,800

I’m fading Wilson this week. Aaron Rodgers even said that opposing teams are looking to take away Garrett Wilson, and his touchdown last week saved what would have been another underwhelming week for the third-year receiver. He figures to see a good bit of Patrick Surtain, and no team has been tougher on opposing receivers this year than the Denver Broncos

Also, the Broncos have allowed 4.45 yards per carry on the ground, so the Jets may lean more into the legs of Breece Hall and Braelon Allen, compared to the arm of Aaron Rodgers. New York’s defense will have Bo Nix all out of whack, and I’m not paying up for Wilson in a low scoring game that figures to see the Jets run the ball a ton.

NFL Week 4 WR Play of The Week

Nico Collins, Houston Texans - DraftKings: $7,200 | FanDuel: $7,700

Collins has an insane 40% target share against man coverage this year, and guess what? Jacksonville plays a ton of man coverage. Albeit a quiet Week 3 against Jacksonville last season, he caught seven balls for 104 yards and one touchdown in Week 12 last year against Jacksonville, and quarterback C.J. Stroud has balled out against AFC south opponents.

This game is at home, Stroud is better at home, and any question about who Houston’s WR1 is have been answered already. Start Collins with confidence against a Jacksonville defense that has allowed the eighth-most fantasy points per game to wideouts this year.
