NFL DFS Christmas Day WR Coach for Fanduel & DraftKings Fantasy
This slate is not particularly kind at wide receiver, given that the easy route is just paying for the studs. However, value options are slim to none with multiple backup quarterbacks set to play on Christmas. After sifting through the data and crunching the numbers, I’ve identified my favorite plays at the position this week, and there should be a receiver or two at every price point to give you plenty of options when building your NFL DFS lineups this week, headlined by Courtland Sutton of the Denver Broncos.
NFL Christmas Day Wide Receivers
This is a living, breathing resource, and it will be updated as the week goes on, based on injury news, practice reports, etc. You may see some players removed who were earlier featured, or perhaps some players added as we approach Thursday kickoff.

NFL DFS WR Top Tier Picks for Christmas Day
Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions - DraftKings: $7,900 | FanDuel: $9,100
St. Brown is the highest-priced receiver on DraftKings for this slate, and rightfully so. He’s received at least nine targets in five straight games, if you remove the game where he left after a couple of plays in Week 13. His 2.86 yards per route run on the year against two-high safety looks projects well against a Minnesota team that is playing it at the league’s highest rate over the last month. Furthermore, of wideouts with at least 250 routes run on the year, his 0.70 fantasy points per route run against two-high safeties is the fourth-best in the NFL, per FantasyPoints Data.
CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys - DraftKings: $7,600 | FanDuel: $8,900
This Washington defense isn’t good, and this Dallas passing attack is going to pick them apart. The Commanders have been playing a lot of two-high safety looks over the last couple of weeks, and on the season, Prescott has a 14:6 TD/INT ratio, 93.0 passer rating, 3.2% completion percentage over expectation, and 77.9% adjusted completion percentage versus two-high safeties, per FantasyPoints Data. Over the last six weeks, Lamb has posted 2.43 yards per route run, 0.43 fantasy points per route run, and over 17 yards per reception, per FantasyPoints Data. Is a Prescott-Lamb-Pickens stack in play on Christmas Day? Well…
George Pickens, Dallas Cowboys - DraftKings: $7,300 | FanDuel: $8,800
It’s expensive, but if you go cheaper at TE/RB, you could go with both Dallas wideouts. The hope is that Washington can keep it close to have Dallas continue to go through the air, but the matchup is quite nice for Pickens. I mentioned in Lamb’s write-up about how good he and Prescott have been against two-high safeties, and the excellence continues with Pickens. Over the last six weeks against two-high safeties, Pickens has 2.39 yards per route run, 0.51 fantasy points per route run, and a 22.8% targets share, per FantasyPoints Data. The talented wideout has at least nine targets in all but one game since the team’s bye, and neither Jonathan Jones nor Mike Sainristil has a chance in slowing down Pickens on the perimeter.

NFL DFS WR Mid-Tier Picks for NFL Christmas
Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings - DraftKings: $6,200 | FanDuel: $7,600
At $6,200 on DraftKings, I’ll consider Jefferson in a lineup or two. His second-highest route share out of the slot happened last week, and the Lions have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points per game to slot receivers over the last six weeks! Overall, Detroit has allowed the most fantasy points per game to wideouts over the last four weeks, and one of his two TDs on the year did come against this Lions squad. For what it’s worth, he’s averaged 114.1 yards per game against the Lions for his career. However, significant question marks at QB remain present for Jefferson.
Jameson Williams, Detroit Lions - DraftKings: $6,400 | FanDuel: $6,900
As mentioned with Amon-Ra St. Brown, the Vikings play a ton of two-high safety looks. For the year, Williams’ 1.81 yards per route run against two-high safeties may not look all that dominant. However, over his last six games, he’s posted 2.66 yards per route run against two-high safety looks, per FantasyPoints Data. During this six-game run, he’s been impressive against zone coverage (2.20 yards per route run), and Williams has posted 70+ yards in four straight games! Also, he’s found the end zone in four straight road games, so there’s that trend, too. Dallas and Detroit are the two offenses on this slate I’m most confident in, which is why you’ve seen multiple plays from both teams.

NFL Christmas Day DFS WR Value Picks
Deebo Samuel, Washington Commanders - DraftKings: $4,800 | FanDuel: $6,000
One could make the case that Josh Johnson starting for Washington would actually benefit Samuel the most. Despite Johnson being a well-traveled journeyman, the team likely opts for a conservative offense with him. Last week, when Johnson came in, 10 drop-backs resulted in a 3.3 average depth of target (aDOT), per FantasyPoints Data. Samuel has a 5.4 aDOT for the season, and per Pro Football Focus, he has the second-most screen targets, the most receiving yards on screens, and the highest yards per route run on screens. Samuel is still a threat after the catch, so maybe he can break a few tackles for a long play or two against a Dallas defense that has allowed the most fantasy points per game to slot receivers over the last six weeks. That’s important because 62.5% of Samuel’s routes over the last six weeks have come out of the slot.
Treylon Burks, Washington Commanders - DraftKings: $3,300 | FanDuel: $5,100
The value options on this slate are few and far between, so Burks is quite a dart throw. Jaylin Lane seems likely to miss this game, and Burks held an 84% route share last week, trailing only Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel. Josh Johnson looked Burks’ way a good bit upon coming in last week, and at this price point, if Burks can catch two or three passes, he should return enough value. Listen, you can’t ask for much more for a guy at $3,300 on DraftKings than just being out there a lot. Dallas has also allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to wideouts over the last four weeks, so there’s that.

NFL DFS WR Fade for Christmas
Terry McLaurin - DraftKings: $5,800 | FanDuel: $6,700
It’s a good matchup against a lackluster Dallas secondary, but Josh Johnson under center doesn’t project well for McLaurin. Washington’s top wideout has a healthy 13.5 aDOT over his last four games, but Johnson isn’t going to push the ball downfield. The price isn’t bad on DraftKings, admittedly, but with only $200 savings from the likes of Courtland Sutton, or even $400 from Justin Jefferson, I’m not sure I’ll be rostering too much of McLaurin. On DraftKings scoring, he has just one game with 10+ points where he didn’t score a touchdown. If Marcus Mariota plays, I’m far more intrigued by McLaurin, and less interested in Deebo Samuel. If it’s Josh Johnson, we’re fading McLaurin.

NFL Christmas Day WR Play of The Week
Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos - DraftKings: $6,000 | FanDuel: $7,100
I love this spot for Sutton, but hate the potential game script. Can Kansas City keep this remotely close with Chris Oladokun against a stout Denver defense? Questioning that is more than warranted, but I could also see Sean Payton kicking the Chiefs while they are down and running it up a bit. Sutton has been excellent against man coverage this season (3.45 yards per route run), and Kansas City has allowed the ninth-most fantasy points per game to perimeter wideouts over the last six weeks, per FantasyPoints Data. Pat Bryant is likely to miss this game, and don’t discount the fact that Sutton has found the end zone in three of his last four, and has not one, not two, but three straight games with double-digit targets.
