Best NFL DFS Week 14 Watch List: Top DraftKings & FanDuel Picks
Published: Dec 03, 2024
It’s NFL Week 14 and while the season-long fantasy football community is sweating another Byemageddon or Byepocalypse or whatever you want to call it, we DFS players head into this weekend like it’s any other week. It’s another 10-game slate if you’re playing on DraftKings, an 11-gamer on FanDuel and we’re ready to jump right into the best NFL Week 14 DFS Watch List.
A big key this week is going to be how we continue to handle the pricing of the top-tier running backs. It’s gotten to a point where, especially on FanDuel, you almost have to avoid the upper echelon in cash games because the pricing makes it so constrictive when trying to build a high-floor, zero-fat lineup.
It’s actually one of the reasons I lightened my cash game play on DraftKings. Not only are you facing these ridiculous lineup trains, but their pricing was forcing you into more dart-throws than you want to use in a cash environment.
FanDuel isn’t going full-blown into that realm, but I do find myself using more wide receivers or even an extra tight end in the flex instead of the usual running back I like using because of the half-point PPR scoring format.
I don’t mind doing that if I’m swinging for the fences in a GPP tournament, but in cash, I prefer the security guaranteed touches can give you. Unfortunately, when you have nine running backs at a minimum of $8,000 each, it makes things incredibly difficult. Not that the game is supposed to be easy, but you know what I’m saying. Leave us our cash games, please.
Best NFL DFS Week 14 Watch List For 2024
Before we get to the NFL DFS Week 14 Watch List, I always like to check in with the previous week to see where we’re at with regard to the process. And you know what…? With the exception of C.J. Stroud and dart-throw Jalen Nailor, we did pretty well with our featured players.
Will Levis was a solid paydown, Bucky Irving and Alvin Kamara were fantastic, Ladd McConkey was strong and both tight ends, Hunter Henry and Tommy Tremble, returned strong value. The Stroud one is the only one that has me scratching my head. I wish I knew what has him regressing so much this season. Hopefully, he fixes it during the bye.
But enough about yesterday. Let’s talk about tomorrow and let’s get to the best NFL DFS Week 14 Watch List.
Top DraftKings DFS Week 14 Watch List
Will Levis, QB Tennessee Titans ($5,000)
He’s still struggling with his accuracy when facing tougher, or improving, pass defenses, but when he’s facing a real soft one, we’re seeing a completion rate over 70-percent.
He’s averaging 240 passing yards per game with a 7:2 TD:INT over his last four games and now gets a home start against the Jaguars who continue to rank near the bottom in almost every pass defense metric there is.
Alvin Kamara, RB New Orleans Saints ($8,000)
The concern over Taysom Hill poaching red zone work and goal-line touches is over which means we can comfortably lock Kamara into our lineups once again.
I’m a huge fan of the running scheme Klint Kubiak and Rick Dennison run and now facing a Giants team that allows the fourth-most rushing yards per game has me all excited about using him this week. And the fact that we can comfortably pay down at QB has me even more locked in.
Calvin Ridley, WR Tennessee Titans ($6,100)
Not sure how much of a revenge factor there is for Ridley, but the Jags cut him loose after one season and this is the first time he’s facing them. Again, the Jags pass defense is awful, so if we’re going to use Levs this week, let’s pair him up with his top receiver.
Can give a nod to teammate Nick Westbrook-Ikhine-Ikhine here on DraftKings, but FanDuel has the two priced right next to each other.
Brock Bowers, TE Las Vegas Raiders ($6,500)
He is the No. 1 target on his team and will continue to be fed as he faces a Bucs team that just allowed 77 yards on five catches to little Tommy Tremble just last week. The Bucs have been terrible against the tight end all season long and are allowing the sixth-most fantasy points per game to the position. Bowers should eat.
Best FanDuel DFS Week 14 Watch List
Sam Darnold, QB Minnesota Vikings ($7,600)
The Falcons are in a bit of a tailspin right now and have to travel to Minnesota where Darnold has been righting the ship after a three-week tumble.
Atlanta is allowing the 11th most passing yards per game, the seventh-most passing touchdowns on the year and are allowing opposing quarterbacks to post the fifth-highest passer rating against them. Darnold is at a very solid price for what he should do to the Falcons this week.
Isaac Guerendo, RB San Francisco 49ers ($5,200)
Here is your cash game free square for the week. There is no way, even with the offensive line issues, we can pass up on the lead back in a Kyle Shanahan offense against a run-funnel defense like that of the Bears.
Not at this kind of a discount. Chicago is allowing the eighth-most rushing yards per game, and they’ve allowed 12 rushing touchdowns on the year. Guerendo should eat, but regardless, everyone will be using him so lock him into your cash lineups.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR New Orleans Saints ($5,800)
I’ve never been a big fan of MVS, but as I’ve said a billion times, opportunity can trump talent any day in the NFL. He may not be the greatest out there, but MVS is the No. 1 receiver for Derek Carr and should be able to maintain that status against a struggling Giants secondary. In fact, the G-men rank 31st in DVOA against the opposing WR1. At this price? Oh baby!
Will Dissly, TE Los Angeles Chargers ($5,100)
We definitely want to find a good spot to get a slice of this Sunday Night game and Dissly might just be the most economical player, especially for cash game play. He’s the top tight end and is a top three target on the team behind Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston.
The Chiefs has improved their DVOA rating against the position, but they are still, 13 weeks into the season, allowing the second-most fantasy point per game to the tight end.
