Another successful week in the books with David Njoku and Cade Otton providing some nice cheap value for NFL DFS lineups in Week 9. Shame that Dallas Goedert broke his arm on a tough tackle, but what can you do? We’re on to NFL Week 10 where there are some interesting maneuvers - especially if you price shop on multiple platforms like we do for NFL daily fantasy football. Let's dive into the top NFL DFS picks for Week 10 on DraftKings and FanDuel.

As a reminder, here is how we separate the groups here.  We do it this way so that you have an option no matter how much (or how little) money you have available to spend on tight end.

Top Tier:  the safest and most expensive guys available if you want to pay up

Mid Tier: affordable players that offer the best bang for your buck

Value Tier: the bargain bin players that are risky by nature but can have the huge upside in terms of value created

Fades: The guys we feel are the worst value proposition that you should actively avoid

NFL DFS Week 10 TE Top-Tier Picks

Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions

Honestly, if you pay up for a tight end, it should be right here. And that’s especially true on Yahoo and FanDuel where he’s priced cheaper than T.J. Hockenson. It’s going to be an incredibly popular play this week but LaPorta is the “good chalk”. He’s top five this year in three key behind-the-scenes stats - route participation, target share, and yards per route run. He’s also been clutch vs. man-to-man and in contested catch situations which is huge in the red zone. Now he gets the Chargers which are a bottom-three defense vs the tight end this year? I have him ranked TE1 overall in my weekly rankings while King Kelce is on bye.

T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings

I actually don’t LOVE this play - I almost left LaPorta in this section and no one else. Folks are going to look at Joshua Dobbs throwing it to Trey McBride 14 times in his last game in Arizona (plus Hock’s work last week) and think this is a slam dunk. But Demario Davis and Tyrann Mathieu can cause trouble for tight ends so it’s not the walk in the park it may seem. That said, Cole Kmet did prove last week that individual talent can prevail at times in this matchup and Hock is as talented as they come. On Yahoo and FanDuel we are using LaPorta but on DraftKings Hock is actually $700 cheaper than LaPorta you might want to make a lineup with him if you can put that extra $ to good use.

NFL DFS Week 10 TE Mid-Tier Picks

Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans

Another popular play and one that could verge on too chalky after this monster game last week. But Robert Woods, Nico Collins, and Dameon Pierce all missed practice on Wednesday so the Texans could be without a few of their weapons. The Cincinnati Bengals lost both starting safeties this offseason in Vonn Bell and Jessie Bates and Dalton Kincaid made them pay last week catching 10 of 11 so Schultz should be a pretty good cash game option this week. He’s priced right around 10% of your budget on all three platforms so pretty reasonably priced though he’s $21 on Yahoo vs $22 for LaPorta so I’d try to find an extra buck to use LaPorta.

Logan Thomas, Washington Commanders

Logan Thomas has had an interesting season complete with ups, downs, and injuries but right now we only care about what is happening lately. And for the last three games he has averaged 6.3 targets. This past week his 44 routes was actually more than Jahan Dotson (42) and only one behind Terry McLaurin. Seattle is a middle-of-the-pack defense vs the TE so no major concerns. He’s 8.8% of your budget on FanDuel so we’d rather just pay up but 7.6% on DraftKings and 7% on Yahoo is reasonable.

NFL DFS Week 10 TE Value-Tier Picks

Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals

We’ve said this time and time again - any chance we have to try and take advantage of positive changes before the prices change we are going to do it. Zach Ertz is still out and now Kyler Murray is back. Of course, we don’t know for sure if Kyler will target McBride the way Joshua Dobbs is but that uncertainty creates upside. In DFS we fall flat all the time in GPPs but you are better off chasing big potential in those tournaments than settling for mediocrity. The matchup is pretty good and the QB change could make all the difference. He’s 8-8.5% of the budget on Yahoo and FanDuel so don’t love that but 7% on DraftKings is exactly right.

Chigoziem Okonkwo, Tennessee Titans

Last week we pointed out that Yahoo completely mispriced David Njoku at $11 when the minimum is $10. That’s the equivalent of Njoku being priced $2,700 on DraftKings which is silly. And he scored a TD so it paid off. This week they’ve done it again. Chigoziem Okonkwo is the bare minimum $10. That’s 5% of your budget while he’s 8% of your budget over on FanDuel. On DraftKings, he’s actually not a bad option at 6% either but that’s $3,000 - this Yahoo price is the equivalent of $2,500. Last four games he’s gotten 9, 4, 5, and 4 targets and that is not a “bare minimum” tight end. Treylon Burks is also out for this week so targets will be available. Oh, and the Buccaneers are a bottom-three defense vs. the tight end this year.

NFL DFS Week 10 TE Fades

Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens

Mark Andrews is awesome. Everyone knows that. And no one is saying he’s not capable of a great game. But the Cleveland Browns have been on another level against the tight end this year. They’ve only allowed 155 total yards to the position which is almost 100 fewer than anyone else. Their 5.8 DK points per game vs the TE leads the league and the next closest is at 8.3. Just not doing it.

David Njoku, Cleveland Browns

We’ve ridden the David Njoku train a couple of times but not this week. The Ravens are a top-three defense vs. the tight end and that’s behind Roquan Smith and Kyle Hamilton. As with some of these AFC North division games that don’t involve the Bengals, it’s projected to be a slugfest with an over/under of only 38.5 points and the Ravens favored by almost a touchdown. We’re going to avoid both tight ends in this one.
