Welcome to the NFL Week 6 Monday Night Football Showdown Slate!

Are we ready to cap off Week 6 in style? Let’s hope for a good game here as much of Week 6 was kind of a bust for fantasy purposes. We had a number of great plays in the Playbook this week, but we were really let down by some key guys like Michael Pittman, Kareem Hunt (who got hurt) and, of course, the Los Angeles Chargers. When a big team like that misses – and all of them from Justin Herbert to Austin Ekeler to Keenan Allen were horrendous.

But tonight, we’ve got a killer match-up as the No. 1 Buffalo Bills defense tangles with Derrick Henry, the No. 1 running back in the NFL. That alone should be worth the price of admission. We’ve got a health scare with A.J. Brown tonight so be on the lookout for news before the game and be sure to check to see who is starting in that Tennessee secondary as they have a key cornerback missing. There are going to be some interesting lineups built tonight as game-flow might not be as many expect….or maybe it is. You see what I’m saying?

Now before we begin, please take a moment to understand what exactly you are getting yourself into by playing single-game Showdown Slates. We love to have some skin in the game, for sure, but these slates are, for all intents and purposes, a lottery ticket. Sure, there are times when the chalk hits and everyone shares in the prizes, but, more often than not, you need to hit on that random dart-throw that differentiates your lineup from that of the herd in order to claim the top prize. As a result, we encourage you to play responsibly and not over-invest. Stick to the GPP contests (single-entry preferred), don’t blow your whole bankroll, and understand that, unless you are a max-entry player, you should prioritize having fun.

OK. Lecture over. Let’s get to tonight’s action.

**Please note that players not listed below are not necessarily a complete fade and any player listed can certainly be used as the MVP/Captain. These are merely suggestions for players to use when setting Showdown lineups.

MVP/Captain

Zack Moss, RB BUF – Now healthy, Moss has out-snapped Devin Singletary and has seemingly taken over this backfield. Based on potential game-flow, Moss is likely to see a lot of work as the Bills look to grind out the clock and put this game to bed quickly. This one could be more competitive than most think, but not to the point where Buffalo is throwing heavily.

Emmanuel Sanders, WR BUF – If you figure that Janoris Jenkins will likely be shadowing Stefon Diggs, that puts back-up corners like Chris Jackson, Breon Borders or Elijah Molden on Sanders with Kristian Fulton out. It was a favorable match-up to begin with so look for Allen to target Sanders both between the 20s and inside the red zone.

Derrick Henry, RB TEN – He’s the best running back in the game and will continue to see the volume. It’s not the greatest match-up so it might be tough to return value based on cost, but if this Bills D comes in a little too confident, Henry just might start gashing them as the game rolls on.

Mid-Tier

Josh Allen, QB BUF – It doesn’t seem like a game where Allen is going to have to throw heavily, but if you’re thinking about taking Tennessee with the points, you must believe that the game will be closer than what the rest of the public thinks. If that’s the case, then Allen should be productive enough to top 250 yards with a touchdown or two. Maybe he even tries to run one in himself.

Ryan Tannehill, QB TEN – The Bills defense is no joke and you have to figure they will focus on stopping the run. That should put Tannehill in a position to throw more. He may not have A.J. Brown, so keep an eye on that, but Julio Jones is healthy and there are a few other receiving weapons capable of moving the fantasy needle.

Dawson Knox, TE BUF – What a revelation this guy has been as Allen has been locking in on his tight end more and more this season. While the Titans rank third in DVOA against the tight end, they haven’t really faced a team yet that features the position in their passing attack. They also did give up a touchdown to Jaguars TE Jacob Hollister last week.

Stefon Diggs, WR BUF – We expect Janoris Jenkins to shadow him, but Jenkins is far from being a shut-down corner. His price tag and the shadow may make him a bit of a contrarian play, so keep that in mind. Low ownership on Diggs could prove to be a game-winner.

Julio Jones, WR TEN – He’s finally healthy and stepping back out onto the field. Expect him to see a lot of Tre’Davious White which, on paper, favors Jones. He’s not the dominant force he once was with Atlanta, but if Brown is out or even at less than 100-percent, it will be up to Jones to make this passing attack click.

A.J. Brown, WR TEN – Keep an eye on his health as he was a last-minute add to the injury report due to illness. Consider him a contrarian play because, even before the illness, we were hearing that he wasn’t going to receive his full complement of snaps anyway.

Devin Singletary, RB BUF – If this game does get out of hand and the Bills just grind out the clock in the second half, we could see a lot of Singletary in an effort to keep Moss fresh and limit any unnecessary wear-and-tear. He’s an affordable add if you want to get a little funky setting up multiple lineups.

Dart Throws

Buffalo Bills D/ST – It’s the No. 1 defense and they lead the league in takeaways with 15 through five games. The Titans are middle-of-the-pack when it comes to tuning the ball over, but if the Bills stop Henry and force Tannehill to throw more, we could see some. Maybe even a pick-six if we’re lucky.

Josh Reynolds, WR TEN – He’s been blended into this passing game more and more with the injuries to Brown and Jones and has the ability line up all over the field. From a talent standpoint, he’s probably the third best on the team, so if Brown sits or is limited, Reynolds makes for an interesting play.

Marcus Johnson, WR TEN – He saw a ton of snaps last week, but only one target. He’s a little one-dimensional as a receiver, but if you’re looking for that home run threat, Johnson could be that hit for you.

Anthony Firkser, TE TEN – Tannehill likes to hit that tight end in the end zone and Firkser is the one who leads in snaps and targets. Both MyCole Pruitt and Geoff Swaim see minor involvement and either could be the one, but if you’re playing the percentages, then Firkser likely gives you the best chance.
