Happy Friday! As we go into the weekend, it seems like intensity is going up in NFL training camp practices around the league (yes, we are looking at you, Raiders). Or maybe the intensity from yesterday’s NFL Hall of Fame Game has the whole league fired up! While it is just preseason, it is always fun to see some live NFL action, and the Cardinals and Panthers did not disappoint. With one NFL preseason game in the books, there is still plenty more NFL live news being reported on, which is why we have you covered with our NFL training camp report.

🤔 NFL Training Camp Updates For Today, 8/6

Outside of Haynes King and Carson Beck absolutely BALLING OUT last night, there was plenty going on across the league. Rookies are continuing to flash across NFL training camps while veterans are continuing to get paid. We reported on Jonathan Taylor’s new contract with the Indianapolis Colts, but yesterday wrapped up with Jahmyr Gibbs surpassing both him and Bijan Robinson in average annual value with his new contract with the Detroit Lions. Today brings even MORE massive contract extensions, plus we still have plenty to cover with our NFL training camp report, so without further ado, let’s dive in!

🏈 NFL Training Camp Live News - Minnesota Vikings QB Battle Update

Kyler Murray Leads Vikings QB Battle

I think we all saw it coming the moment the Minnesota Vikings signed Kyler Murray this offseason. We might’ve even seen it coming when JJ McCarthy brought out his alter ego “Nine,” but as of right now, Kyler Murray has the lead in the Minnesota Vikings QB battle.

While both quarterbacks have reportedly been inconsistent, Kyler Murray has shown more upside with the first-team offense and is currently taking two-thirds of the reps with the starters. Unless things drastically change, it is hard to imagine McCarthy winning the starting job.

Offensive Linemen Get Paid

While the past couple of days have been dominated by the skill position guys dominating the headlines with their new contracts, today is the day the BIG BOYS get paid! Two of the league's top guards received massive paydays today, starting off with Buffalo Bills guard O'Cyrus Torrence agreeing to terms on a four-year, $78.4 million extension. Torrence has been one of the more reliable offensive linemen since he entered the league, as he has not missed a single game.

Torrence’s $19.3 million per year was very impressive, but how does 4-year, $100M deal with $88M guaranteed sound? That is exactly the deal the versatile guard Peter Skoronski got with the Tennessee Titans, making him the highest-paid guard in the league. This is a well-deserved payday for Skoronski, as he has improved every single year since sliding inside from the tackle position he played in college.

📈Fantasy Football Winners Of The Day

Stefon Diggs Looks Sharp in First Practice with Washington

Today, Stefon Diggs took the field for the first time with his new team, and he looked SHARP.

Diggs is coming off a 1,000-yard season with the New England Patriots and now slots in as the WR2 on the Washington Commanders behind Terry McLaurin. Just a couple of days ago, Diggs was being drafted in the last round of fantasy football drafts. Now, he is skyrocketing up draft boards, making him a fantasy football training camp winner. Draft him at a discount while you can!

Rookie Wide Receivers Emerge

The Miami Dolphins' wide receiver room is wide open. While early on, it looked like the incumbent Malik Washington would run away with the WR1 role, rookie wide receiver Caleb Douglas has been very impressive lately, according to NFL training camp live news reports.

Whoever ends up as the Dolphins' number one pass catcher is bound to outplay their ADP, so why not take a shot on the rookie as he develops with his new QB1?

It is also worth noting that Giants rookie WR Malachi Fields has the inside track to be the team’s number two receiver behind Malik Nabers, and both the Cleveland Browns rookie wide receivers have been the stars of their camp as well. In my opinion, these fantasy football training camp winners are certainly worth some dart throws late in drafts.

📉 Fantasy Football Losers Of The Day

Kenneth Walker Splitting Reps as Chiefs RB1?

Every update out of Kansas City Chiefs training camp has been positive regarding their newly signed running back Kenneth Walker. The expectation was that the Chiefs would lean more into their run game while Patrick Mahomes continues to recover from his injury last season and Walker would be their bellcow, similar to the role he had in the Seattle Seahawks’ playoff run that led to a Super Bowl MVP nod.

Well, it looks like Walker might be getting Zach Charbonnet’d even on his new team, as second-year running back Breshard Smith has earned a “good number” of first-team reps in NFL training camp. Smith always profiled as a better receiving back, so if he is taking those valuable catches away from Kenneth Walker, Walker unfortunately has to be a fantasy football training camp loser today.

Odunze & Loveland Get Overshadowed By Burden

The big question surrounding the 2026 Chicago Bears in the fantasy football world is who will end up leading the team in receiving: Colston Loveland, Rome Odunze, or Luther Burden? So far into NFL training camp, it looks like the answer might be Burden.

Luther Burden has been producing highlight plays every single day of Chicago Bears training camp, and all of the coaches have been speaking glowingly of his progression since last season. If Burden is in for a big year, that means fewer targets for Odunze and Loveland, making them fantasy football training camp losers.

🩼 NFL Training Camp Injury Updates - Mahomes Unlikely to Play Preseason Week One

When looking into an NFL training camp report, it is also important to stay up to date with all the injuries around the league and NFL Training Camp Live News.

Mahomes Unlikely to Play Preseason Week One

Coming off a major knee surgery in December, it is a shock that Patrick Mahomes is expected to start Week One for the Kansas City Chiefs, let alone be practicing right now. That being said, Head Coach Andy Reid wants to make sure he gets a LITTLE more rest before the regular season.

Reid announced, "There's a pretty good chance I don't play him. The percentages are leading that way." He continued that he is unsure about the following two preseason games, and he could decide to hold Mahomes out of the preseason entirely, as there are players behind him that could use the reps as well.

Skattebo Scare at Giants Practice

Last year, Giants running back Cam Skattebo’s season was cut short due to a leg injury. So, it is always scary to see a player leave practice early after a collision and proceed to stretch their leg, especially when it is an electric player like Skattebo.

Well, Giants fans and fantasy football players alike can breathe a sigh of relief, as according to Head Coach John Harbaugh, Cam Skattebo is “okay” and they are still working him back from his previous injury.
