If there is a team that has been excellent to us this year in terms of hitting our best bets, it’s the Seattle Seahawks. Specifically, their new QB, Sam Darnold. He’s proving that his remarkable 14-3 season with the Minnesota Vikings was no fluke, throwing for 1,541 yards so far this year - the third-most in the NFL.

Seattle and other West Coast teams often don’t seem to get as much attention as others, so this is a great chance for guys like Jaxon Smith-Njigba to show out in prime time in a nationally televised game. The second-year Ohio State product is just another reason to have some NFL best bets for Monday Night Football.

All that said, they have their work cut out for them facing a Houston Texans’ defense that actually has a stifling defense. Some fans may forget that, with them having their bye week this past weekend, but they rank third in EPA per play.
 

 

 

Monday Night Football Prediction for Texans vs. Seahawks

Along with a strong defense in Seattle as well, we won’t be surprised to see some picks on the under, but is that the most valuable approach for your NFL best bets for Monday Night Football? We, too, expect a lower-scoring game, but we think the Texans vs. Seahawks odds have it on point right now.

If Seattle is going to win this game, they need to actually not solely rely on Sam Darnold. Houston’s defense is lopsided in terms of having the second-best EPA/pass against opponents and third-best pass rush win rate, but is middle of the pack in both regards against the run.

Conversely, that’s where Seattle thrives; they have the second-best EPA/rush against opponents. While it’s not making the cut for the absolute top pick from our NFL best bets for Monday Night Football, we do expect the Seahawks to come out on top because of Houston’s abysmal offensive line.

In other words, we don’t anticipate that C.J. Stroud will be able to exploit the Seahawks through the air like we saw from Baker Mayfield in their most recent loss. With all that said, it’s indeed time to get into the primary focus of our NFL best bets for Monday Night Football.
 

 

 

Texans vs. Seahawks Best Bet for NFL Week 7: Seattle -2.5 First Half Spread (Add Player Pick ‘Ems at Sleeper)

As any fantasy manager will tell you, the Seahawks backfield is an absolute nightmare. Not because Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet are bad by any means, but because of how evenly they split the workload.

Last weekend was a perfect example of that - Walker got 10 carries to Charbonnet’s 12. Worse yet, they even have a similar number of redzone carries throughout the season. Even oddsmakers don’t know how to make NFL picks on them, as they both have similar odds for an anytime touchdown of around +135 to +155.

We have Seattle getting off to a fast start and heading into halftime with a lead. They’ve done so in four of their six games, and while we may not see a 38-6 halftime lead like they had against the New Orleans Saints, Houston is also likely riding high after beating up on bad teams.

Those wins were against the 1-5 Tennessee Titans and 1-5 Baltimore Ravens. The former just fired their coach, and the latter has a fourth-stringer at nearly every position. This Seahawks squad is the polar opposite of those teams.
