2025 Fantasy Football Week 16 IDP Report: Risers, Waiver Wire & Matchups
Week 15 threw a curveball with T.J. Watt a surprise inactive. Myles Garrett edged closer to entering all-time football lore, and Von Miller continues to build his case as one of the ten best pass rushers of all time. There were other great performances as well. Let’s take a look at how the picks from the IDP Report last week fared.
- Von Miller, Defensive Lineman, Washington Commanders:Â 2 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle, 1.0 sack, 1 QB hit, 1 tackle for loss
- Drue Tranquill, Linebacker, Kansas City Chiefs:Â 8 solo tackles, 6 assisted tackles, 1 tackle for loss
- C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Defensive Back, Chicago Bears:Â 3 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle, 1 tackle for loss, 2 passes defended, 1 interception.Â
Weekly Grade: A+. It is another outstanding performance from the Fantasy Alarm IDP Report. Von Miller delivered with a big sack as predicted. C.J. Gardner-Johnson took advantage of a rookie quarterback just as predicted. And Drue Tranquill racked up 14 combined tackles against the run-heavy Los Angeles Chargers… just as predicted. An A+ as every player earned a tackle for loss as part of their great performance.

Fantasy Football IDP Risers Week 16
Abdul Carter is an edge pressure IDP for the New York Giants. The rookie started slow, but has had three good games, and really took a leap after the bye week. The Giants should be evaluating future talent over the next couple of weeks, and Carter was their first-round draft selection. He earned 7 combined tackles, 1.0 sack, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery. He is rising up the rankings and could be an IDP playoff secret. Pick him up, and for dynasty leagues, put him in the lineup.
Akeem Davis-Gaither is a linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals. In week 14, he only played one defensive snap. However, in week 15, he earned 11 tackles, and in weeks 13 and 15, he earned 21 combined tackles. With Mack Wilson out, Davis-Gaither is clearly the best Arizona linebacker. As long as he gets playing time, he will get tackling volume. He plays the Atlanta Falcons next week and the Cincinnati Bengals on championship week 17. Davis-Gaither could be a surprise building block to an IDP championship.
Jaylinn Hawkins is a defensive back for the New England Patriots. He has been either injured or under-performing since week 8, but must have corrected something during the bye week. He earned eleven combined tackles in the loss against the Buffalo Bills. He and the Patriots are on the road over the next two weeks, and Hawkins has a great chance to earn double-digit points as teams attack the Patriots' secondary. IDP managers should keep an eye on this riser.

Fantasy Football Week 16 IDP Waiver Wire Targets
James Pearce, Defensive Lineman, Atlanta Falcons
Pearce is a rookie who has been mentioned as a riser, but he is a must-roster IDP going forward. Pearce has recorded a sack in six consecutive games. In fact, he has 7.5 sacks in the last six games. The Atlanta Falcons are out of the playoffs, but they displayed last week that they are still committed to playing the season. Pearce will continue to see a high amount of snaps and has an opportunity to help an IDP manager bring home a fantasy football championship. Pick him up off the waiver wire and put him in the starting lineup.
Odafe Oweh, Defensive Lineman/Linebacker, Los Angeles Chargers
Oweh was traded to the Los Angeles Chargers mid-season from the Baltimore Ravens. He is beginning to find his groove with his new team and has recorded 3.0 sacks in the past two games. The Chargers play the Dallas Cowboys in week 16, and Oweh has a great opportunity to extend his sack streak, particularly if left tackle Nate Thomas is out. Micah Parsons owners with championship aspirations should look at Oweh as a band-aid IDP for the fantasy football playoffs. Grab him off the waiver wire and play him in week 16.
Antonio Johnson, Defensive Back, Jacksonville Jaguars
Antonio Johnson is available in almost every IDP fantasy football league. He had an impressive game last week, earning 5 tackles, 1 interception, and 3 passes defended. Jacksonville is one of the best teams of December and has an opportunity to earn first place in the AFC. Johnson must continue to be a highly involved safety for the Jaguars to win the AFC South, and that will lead to great fantasy football production. He has 52 tackles, 7 passes defended, 3 interceptions, and 2.0 sacks this season. He is underrated and could be a great depth piece to get off the waiver wire.

NFL Week 16 IDP Matchups To Capitalize On
Los Angeles Rams vs Seattle Seahawks Thursday 8:15 PM ET
- Leonard Williams, Defensive Lineman, Seattle Seahawks
There is so much on the line in the week 16 Thursday night football (TNF) game, and the TNF IDP highlight has several studs to choose from. The Seattle Seahawks won a game in which they didn’t score a touchdown last week, and their defense is quietly one of the best in the NFL. Leonard Williams is one of several veterans on the defensive line, and he has an opportunity to have a big game.
He only recorded four combined tackles in the previous match against the Los Angeles Rams this season. The Rams are injured at both tight end and wide receiver, and that could force Matthew Stafford to stay in the pocket longer. Perfect for Williams to earn a sack, and/or get a couple QB hits. Trust him in the lineup on Thursday.
Buffalo Bills vs Cleveland Browns Sunday 1:00 PM ET
- Matt Milano, Linebacker, Buffalo BillsÂ
Matt Milano has been oft-injured and has failed to put up good numbers since week 1 of the season. That changed last week with 10 combined tackles, 2.0 sacks, and 1 forced fumble. All of which were season highs. Terrel Bernard was out for his third consecutive game, and Milano finally delivered in his absence.
The Cleveland Browns host the Bills in the battle of Lake Erie. These cities are only three hours apart, and the Bills have an opportunity to gain control of the AFC East. The Browns’ production comes from their tight ends and running backs, and that will continue. Milano is tasked with stopping both of those positions and is due for another high-scoring game. Play him with confidence after a season of subpar play.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Carolina Panthers Sunday 1:00 PM ET
- Tre’von Moehrig, Defensive Back, Carolina Panthers
Tre’von Moehrig started the season off hot, but has only had 5 combined tackles in the past three weeks. He is available in over 45% of leagues due to it, and the Carolina Panthers have the biggest game in the David Tepper era. They are 7 -7, as are the division rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and they play each other two times in the next three weeks.Â
Carolina hosts the Buccaneers in week 16, and must have a good defensive performance in order to win this game. Moehrig is one of their better IDPs on their roster, and he should have a great game against pass-happy Tampa Bay. Several tackles and possibly a big play in the biggest Panthers game in five years are on deck. Play Moehrig with confidence in week 16.
