One more shot. That’s all we need. One shot to make the playoffs. Or get that bye week. Or get the weekly high score payout. Or beat your buddy who NEEDS to win this week and drag their sorry ass to the consolation bracket with you, laughing the whole way down.

Whatever shot you are taking, it’s week 14, and it’s time to buckle up. Time to go full Captain Insano and not hold anything back now. If you DO want to look ahead a little, I did include my Rest of Season tight end rankings with color-coded matchup grid at the bottom of my waiver wire article. But this article is about right NOW.

If you truly don’t want to leave anything to chance, my rankings for this week for EVERY position are available to Fantasy Alarm Members here. If you are completely eliminated, there’s also DFS advice and our betting picks in there - not just for football but every single spot. Week 14 Tight End Rankings: Tier 1

Yes, it’s a tough matchup with the Rams. But Trey McBride has been far and away the best tight end - he’ll easily log a top 10 all-time season at the position this year and possibly cruise into the top five. Luckily for us, the second divisional game against the Rams is Week 18, and off the fantasy football schedule, so we don’t need to worry about that.

Week 14 Tight End Rankings: Tier 2

If it wasn’t for the Bengals being possibly the worst team in history against the tight end, we might be talking about how the Jaguars are the worst team since the 2020 Jets in PPR points per game to the TE. Warren will never be ranked super low due to the gadget upside he has as a converted QB, though him fumbling the snap last week might have taken that off the table. At this stage, Brock Bowers is just a guy that you start if you have him, as he showed last week. Denver isn’t necessarily a good matchup, but it’s not completely terrible.

Week 14 Tight End Rankings: Tier 3

Travis Kelce does have a matchup that is pretty bad - we’d like to avoid the Eagles, Bills, and Texans where possible. But it’s a must-win situation, so Kelce should be called upon. Jake Ferguson is one of the best TEs vs. man-to-man, and the Lions run a lot of man, so he’s a solid play and a threat to score. They have two good WRs, but it’s shootout conditions. If Kincaid is playing against the Bengals, I’m playing him. The Bengals have been historically bad against the TE, and Kincaid was already a part-time guy anyway.

Week 14 Tight End Rankings: Tier 4

This tier is incredibly close. And, because of all the moving parts with injuries, you will need to check back on Sunday at noon for the update to see how it finally shakes out. Outside of the three-week span where he hurt his knee in the Bills game, Juwan Johnson has been ROCK solid. Brenton Strange plays primarily inline TE, and he has only 4 and 5 targets the last two weeks, but he has a great matchup. This ranking assumes Parker Washington is in based on the latest info. For Kyle Pitts, we are assuming Julian Love is back for the Seahawks, but Drake London is out. Darren Waller returned to a ~70% route participation and has as much upside as anyone.

Week 14 Tight End Rankings: Tier 5

This tier doesn’t have as much upside. Harold Fannin, for instance, has led the team in virtually every stat since Shedeur Sanders took over, but his aDot over 2.7 yards is super low. The Titans have been tough vs. the tight end, but if they use Kevin Winston Jr. as their nickel CB again like last week, Fannin could do alright (Winston allowed 7 catches on 7 targets). We know the deal on Andrews (chasing TDs to some degree), Schultz (not much YAC but decent target floor), and Loveland (boy, would it be nice if he would play more). With Gadsden, there is still upside somewhere in there, but going up against the Eagles with a hurt QB or backup QB sounds bad.

Week 14 Tight End Rankings: Tier 6

Dallas Goedert hasn’t had a good game in over a month. With his lack of success vs. man to man and lack of endzone targets, his TDs early season seem pretty flukey (one was even a gadget play). Engram took advantage of an older Bobby Wagner last week, but this matchup vs. LV is quietly not good. Ertz benefited from the game script last week, but they won’t throw 59 times again.

Week 14 Tight End Rankings: Tier 7

Impossible to trust these guys for one reason or another, but they are at least the starters. You are essentially betting on something to change. For instance, for T.J. Hockenson, you need JJ McCarthy to actually play well. For Cade Otton, you need a WR to get hurt again. For Mason Taylor, you need him to not block on 10 pass plays like last week. Could happen.

Week 14 Tight End Rankings: Tier 8

With this crew, we don’t actually know if they will even be the tight end on their team that runs the most routes. We know they will be involved in some capacity, but it’s not trustworthy. They are DFS dart throws to me at best.
