We’ve got one more game left for NFL Week 5, and it features the defending back-to-back Super Bowl-champion Kansas City Chiefs, who will be hosting the New Orleans Saints. KC is the clear favorite on their home field, but for those looking at other ways to approach the game, we’ve shared our best NFL MNF player prop picks.
We’ll also be covering some of the other popular Saints vs. Chiefs player props and even a guaranteed $200 FanDuel Sportsbook welcome bonus for you to claim ahead of kickoff!
Best NFL Monday Night Football Player Prop Picks
After Week 2 of this season, this matchup could have been arguably the most likely Super Bowl matchup this year! However, the Saints have since come back down to Earth, and even a 4-0 Chiefs team have not looked as dominant as their record would suggest.
All that is a recipe for making the standard betting markets a bit more difficult to navigate, hence us providing our best NFL MNF player prop picks for you. Even Saints vs. Chiefs player props aren’t as straightforward as other matchups, but with all eyes on this standalone Monday Night Football game, we’ve still found great spots for you!
Saints vs. Chiefs Player Props: Patrick Mahomes Over 230.5 Passing Yards (-114 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
Before we even get into the first of our NFL MNF player prop picks, we aren’t expecting a high-scoring game, but we simply can’t ignore the value of arguably the best player in the entire NFL.
Firstly, we see Mahomes’ line set as high as 233.5 yards elsewhere, so we can thank FanDuel for value right from the rip. Secondly, this is a line that has historically been set in the 270’s at the very least. Of course, we fully understand why the two-time MVP is no longer expected to throw for as many yards right now.
His top target, WR Rashee Rice, just went down with a significant knee injury. Beyond that, TE Travis Kelce has looked like a shell of his All-Pro self. Even with those factors, Mahomes can absolutely toss the rock for at least 231 yards. After all, head coach Andy Reid has proven that he can scheme anyone open.
He’s going to need to do that now more than ever with the Chiefs running game virtually non-existent. Bringing back former Chief Kareem Hunt should help, but it’s still not what it was prior to the Isaiah Pacheco injury.
Mahomes proved that he could take things over through the air in a low-scoring game just last week as well. KC snagged a tight 17-10 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers with Mahomes throwing for 245 yards. So, it may not be a stereotypical 300+ yard game from #15, but we’re still comfortable starting our NFL MNF player prop picks with Patrick Mahomes over 230.5 passing yards (-114 at FanDuel Sportsbook).
Saints vs. Chiefs Player Prop Bets: Alvin Kamare Under 64.5 Yards (-114 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
Our next Saints vs. Chiefs player props picks correlates much more with a low-scoring game, even if unders aren’t as fun to root for. This also may come as a surprise given how Kamare exploded to start the season.
He notched four touchdowns against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2, but we’ve all seen how rough their defense has proven to be. Now, we’re not saying that Kamara won’t have an impact in this game - after all, he has the shortest odds to find the endzone.
Even if Kamara goes off for five touchdowns, we’re still only worried about his rushing. He’s a major part of the passing game as well, and that’s where we see the Saints looking to utilize him. He had seven receptions just last Sunday, and the ground game simply isn’t where to attack the Chiefs.
Chargers RB JK Dobbins began the year with back-to-back games with 100+ rushing yards and looked absolutely elite. Well, he ran into the Chiefs defense last week and gained just 32 yards on 14 carries. The week prior, KC faced another NFC South team in the Atlanta Falcons and didn’t allow any rusher to eclipse 32 yards.
In fact, it wasn’t even star RB Bijan Robinson that led the team - the Chiefs held him to just 31 yards on 16 carries! With all that in mind, we’re adding to our NFL MNF player prop picks with Alvin Kamara under 64.5 rushing yards (-114 at FanDuel Sportsbook).
