Walker Kessler NBA Underdog Pick: Higher 15.5 Points
Kessler has been one of the stories of the first week. He went a perfect 12-for-12 for 26 points in his Lakers debut, then followed it with 22 points on 10-of-14 shooting and six blocks in Friday's 125-117 win over the Clippers. That's 24.0 points per game through two contests, a career-high pace.
His role explains the production. Kessler is the finisher at the end of Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves pick-and-rolls, and nearly all of his shots come at the rim. He played 30 and 35 minutes in his first two games, so there's no sign of a limited workload.
Sunday's matchup might be the best he'll see all season. Kessler returns to Utah, where he spent his first four NBA seasons, and the Jazz rank dead last in opponent points in the paint at 61.0 per game while sitting 28th in rebound percentage. A big man who scores almost entirely inside should feast.

Porter has picked up right where he left off as Brooklyn's top scorer. He opened with 26 points against Charlotte on 5-of-11 shooting from three, then dropped 28 on 10-of-18 shooting in Saturday's 125-121 loss in Cleveland. He's averaging more than nine three-point attempts per game, and the Nets are running their offense through him.
Last season was the best of his career. Porter averaged 24.2 points in 32.5 minutes across 52 games in his first year in Brooklyn, comfortably above this line, and he took 18.4 shots a night as the clear first option.
The one thing to watch is rest. Sunday is the second night of a back-to-back for the Nets, and Brooklyn held Porter out of some back-to-back games last season to manage his back, so confirm he's active before lock. If he plays, his usage keeps him in range of this number every night.
