Let us close out the year on a high note with the final NBA DFS Showdown Slate of 2022 with the Miami Heat taking on the Utah Jazz. We have clarity early on that Jimmy Butler will be out tonight for injury management related to his knee, so the only true questionable status that we are waiting on, is Caleb Martin. Of course, things can certainly change, but the advance knowledge certainly helps. Utah enters tonight favored by 4.5 game, and it should be a pretty tight game with an over/under of 225. Let us dig into some NBA DFS Showdown Slate picks.

Miami Heat Injuries

Jimmy Butler – Out

Caleb Martin – Questionable (quadricep)

Victor Oladipo – Probable (knee)

Dewayne Dedmon - Out

Utah Jazz Injuries

None

NBA DFS MVP/Captain

Tyler Herro, Miami Heat

With Butler out, the high-scoring and high-volume Herro is going to naturally draw our attention. In 33 minutes of action last night, Herro ultimately found his groove and finished with 26 points in 33 minutes of action with his 10 rebounds being a pleasant surprise. Overall, Herro is averaging six rebounds and 4.6 assists per game, but in both categories, he does flash some upside while averaging 21.1 points per game with the ceiling increasing with Butler resting.

Bam Adebayo, Miami Heat

Opposing centers have been having success against Utah this season, and Adebayo should be no different tonight. Adebayo had a rough shooting night on Friday but going 10 of 11 from the line helped get him to 22 points as he continues to have a solid season averaging 20.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. The conditions should be ripe tonight for Adebayo to have one of his better games of the season.

Lauri Markkanen, Utah Jazz

The good news is that both teams are on equal footing after playing last night, and Markkanen is coming off one of his better offensive games of the season with 36 points against Sacramento. Despite only making one of seven shots from downtown, the forward still managed to shoot an impressive 16 of 24 from the field.

NBA DFS Utility Options

Jordan Clarkson, Utah Jazz

Offense is the name of the game for Clarkson, and last night was his sixth straight game breaking the 20-point mark. While he is averaging 20.9 points per game this season, Clarkson is a player that could be on the streaky side and the fact that he is averaging 49.4% from the field in his last five games is a good sign.

Max Strus, Miami Heat

With Butler out, Strus will slide into the starting lineup for Miami after scoring 19 points in two of his last three games. There should be enough volume here for Strus to at least hit the 13.1 points per game he is averaging on the season.

Mike Conley, Utah Jazz

The scoring will fluctuate on a nightly basis from Conley, but the point guard is coming off a 17 point, eight assist effort last night. For the season, Conley continues to flirt with a double-double at times averaging 9.9 points and 7.5 assists per game although most nights, he will come up just short.

Walker Kessler, Utah Jazz

While out of the starting lineup again with Kelly Olynyk back, Kessler is still a large part of Utah’s rotation. Last night, he finished with 11 points and eight rebounds in 24 minutes of action as he continues to be a consistent performer.

NBA DFS Dart Throws

Orlando Robinson, Miami Heat

With Dedmon sidelined and Miami beat up behind Adebayo in the middle, that bares well for Robinson who has taken on a larger as of late. Last night, Robinson was quite efficient as he went for 13 points and five rebounds in just 18 minutes of action for the second time in three games that he hit double figures.

Collin Sexton, Utah Jazz

Last night saw Sexton play his most minutes in the four games since his return (29) but he also scored his least number of points (nine). Sexton is instant offense off the bench, and there is security in his role. What also catches our attention here, is that he is the cheaper than Malik Beasley
