DFS Captain / MVP Picks

Kawhi Leonard, LAC

(DK CPT - $15,900, UTIL - $10,600 / FD MVP - $22,200, UTIL - $14,800)

I looked at Kawhi Leonard’s numbers over the last seven games (the Clippers are 6-1 over that span) are absolutely insane. He has a 36.7% USG and is averaging over 1.5 FP/min during that span. Only once over that span did he put up less than 54 DKP. He’s a fantastic option here and will be the chalkiest captain of the day.

Stephen Curry, GSW

(DK CPT - $14,700, UTIL - $9,800 / FD MVP - $18,900, UTIL - $12,600)

He can go off against just about anyone, but Stephen Curry has a fantastic spot here against the Clippers. The Clippers have allowed the 10th most three-pointers per game this year. Take that and look at Curry, who’s four or more threes in six of his last seven games and has 26+ points in each of those six. Without Jonathan Kuminga this year (who is out of the rotation), Curry has a 33.6% USG and is averaging 1.38 DKP/min and 1.29 FDP/min.

James Harden, LAC

(DK CPT - $15,300, UTIL - $10,200 / FD MVP - $19,800, UTIL - $13,200)

It’s basically been a two-man show for the Clippers while Ivica Zubac is out, as James Harden and Kawhi Leonard have shouldered massive loads. Harden’s numbers with Zubac back in the lineup should improve with how much pick-and-roll they’re going to play. Baseline numbers for Harden has a 28.2% USG, and he is averaging 1.1 FP/min.

DFS Utility Picks

Jimmy Butler, GSW

(DK CPT - $13,200, UTIL - $8,800 / FD MVP - $17,700, UTIL - $11,800)

The Warriors have just three players on their team averaging over 1 FP/min, and Jimmy Butler is one of them, sitting at 1.1 FP/min. He’s also second in USG at 23% without Jonathan Kuminga. Butler is one of those players who could take games over at any point, but typically chooses to make the right play.

John Collins, LAC

(DK CPT - $11,400, UTIL - $7,600 / FD MVP - $14,100, UTIL - $9,400)

It’s been a disappointing season for John Collins as a whole, but maybe there’s been a bit of an uptick as he’s notched 26+ DKP in six of his last seven games. His rebounding definitely takes a hit with Ivica Zubac back.

Draymond Green, GSW

(DK CPT - $10,200, UTIL - $6,800 / FD MVP - $12,300, UTIL - $8,200)

Will Draymond Green get ejected in this game? Will he stay out of foul trouble? Will he argue with his coach and storm into the locker room? All of those things are 50/50. He is a good FP/min player (1 FP/min). He's just such a grumpy person these days, and there’s something going on every day.

Brandin Podziemski, GSW

(DK CPT - $9,900, UTIL - $6,600 / FD MVP - $13,200, UTIL - $8,800)

We can count on Brandin Podziemski to play in the mid-20s in minutes here, and that’s typically where his production sits, too. Just once since December 14th, he scored fewer than 20 FP. He’s a 19% USG player and is a .86 FP/min.

DFS Dart Throws

  • De’Anthony Melton, GSW (DK CPT - $6,600, UTIL - $4,400 / FD MVP - $8,700, UTIL - $5,800) – Melton has played 24+ minutes in 4 straight games. Solid FP/min player.
  • Nicolas Batum, LAC (DK CPT - $6,000, UTIL - $4,000 / FD MVP - $3,000, UTIL - $2,000) – With Derrick Jones Jr. out, Batum will take on a sizable bench role.
  • Gary Payton II, GSW (DK CPT - $4,500, UTIL - $3,000 / FD MVP - $3,000, UTIL - $2,000) – His minutes fluctuate, but Payton could approach 20 minutes here.
  • Will Richard, GSW (DK CPT - $3,600, UTIL - $2,400 / FD MVP - $4,200, UTIL - $2,800) – Back in the rotation playing 17-24 mins. Very cheap.
