DFS Captain / MVP Picks

Alperen Sengun, HOU 

(DK CPT - $17,700, UTIL - $11,800 / FD CPT - $23,100, UTIL - $15,400)

Sengun is coming off one of his worst games of the season, with just 8 points against Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets. He had scored over 50 fantasy points in five straight games before that. This is an excellent bounce-back spot for him as the Kings have been annihilated in the paint without Sabonis. 

Amen Thompson, HOU 

(DK CPT - $14,700, UTIL - $9,800 / FD CPT - $18,600, UTIL - $12,400)

Thompson contributes in all stat categories and has an outside chance at a triple-double in this elite matchup. He has flashed a 50-fantasy point ceiling on multiple occasions and has several paths to get there. With Houston favored by double-digits, it makes sense to load up on Rockets in the top lineup spot. 

Kevin Durant, HOU 

(DK CPT - $15,900, UTIL - $10,600 / FD CPT - $19,500, UTIL - $13,000)

Durant has scored at least 49 fantasy points in three straight games. He is locked in for 35+ minutes in a competitive game, with upside for 40+ minutes, and is just behind Sengun for the team lead in usage. 

Russell Westbrook, SAC 

(DK CPT - $15,000, UTIL - $10,000 / FD CPT - $16,500, UTIL - $11,000)

If the Kings are going to remain competitive in this game, it likely comes on the back of a ceiling performance from Westbrook. He has triple-double upside and a fantasy point ceiling north of 60 points. 

 

 


 

DFS Utility Picks

DeMar DeRozan, SAC 

(DK CPT - $9,900, UTIL - $6,600 / FD CPT - $13,800, UTIL - $9,200)

DeRozan hasn't flashed much ceiling this season, and even the floor has left a bit to be desired considering his price. He's locked in for mid-30s minutes and should be a safe bet for 30 fantasy points. 

Reed Sheppard, HOU 

(DK CPT - $12,300, UTIL - $8,200 / FD CPT - $8,100, UTIL - $5,400)

Sheppard is coming off a nuclear performance in which he topped 50 fantasy points. He dropped 28 points and contributed in all stat categories, including 5 stocks. That is an outlier performance and unlikely to be repeated. While his role should be secure, the return of Tari Eason introduces a threat to his minutes floor. 

Jabari Smith, HOU 

(DK CPT - $11,100, UTIL - $7,400 / FD CPT - $10,500, UTIL - $7,000)

Smith has had a productive stretch, during which he has consistently produced a floor of 30 fantasy points over the past five games. He's been playing massive minutes, but the return of Eason does introduce some risk to that. Still, he has a secure starting role and should be locked in for 30 minutes or more. 

Maxime Raynaud, SAC 

(DK CPT - $9,900, UTIL - $6,600 / FD CPT - $9,000, UTIL - $6,000)

Raynaud has started at center for the last six games and should be locked into that role with Sabonis and Eubanks still out. He's posted a double-double in each of the last two games and has flashed a strong floor/ceiling combo. 

Dylan Cardwell, SAC 

(DK CPT - $1,500, UTIL - $1,000 / FD CPT - $2,100, UTIL - $1,400)

Cardwell is a very intriguing punt option after he has played quite well with regular rotation minutes in each of the last two games. He has racked up 8 blocks in those games and offers rim protection that the Kings have sorely lacked this season. For that reason, his role should remain secure, and he should be a core UTIL option.
