We’re two games into the 2024-25 NBA season and already have had to step over blowouts, surprise minutes restrictions, and strange, unexpected rotations. It’s a real-world reminder that when it comes to NBA DFS, the formula of “minutes = money” is one we want to stick with as we look at today’s PrizePicks NBA picks and projections.

PrizePicks NBA Picks Today: Thursday, 10/24

We have a four-game slate to pick from today. Boston and Minnesota are the only two teams who have played this season. It’ll be Opening Night for the other six squads, which means we’ll need to take a closer look at projected lineups, rotations, and, of course, minutes.

Sound hard? It’s not. We’ve done the heavy lifting for you and have shared below our top PrizePicks NBA picks for today.

PrizePicks NBA DFS Projections - Luka Doncic & SGA

As part of the “Back To Buckets” PrizePicks promo, Luka Doncic has a discounted PrizePicks projection today. His points have been lowered from 30.5 to 25.5, which you should immediately be interested in.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander also has been discounted. His PrizePicks NBA projection coincidentally is the same as Luka’s. We can select SGA to score more than 25.5 points instead of his original 30.5 point projection.

PrizePicks NBA Pick: Donte DiVincenzo - More Than 12 Points

Don’t look at me like that.

DiVincenzo played 32 minutes in the Timberwolves season opener on Tuesday. He scored 10 points (3-11 FG, 2-8 3pt) but had the opportunity for considerably more. The career 77% free-throw shooter even missed 2 of the 4 free throws he took.

Minnesota is clearly committed to playing DiVo decent minutes off the bench, and even letting him throw up threes as he sees fit. This trend began during the team's tune-up games. In 4 preseason games, DiVincenzo averaged one three-point attempt every 2.9 minutes. Tonight he’ll have one of the better 3-point matchups possible. Last year, Sacramento allowed opposing teams to shoot 38.7% from deep, the 2nd-worst rate in the NBA.

Fantasy Alarm forecasts DiVo to produce 13.8 points and 3.1 3pm in only 26 minutes. I think he sees more minutes than that - although he might not need to in order to clear his PrizePicks points projection tonight.

Donte’s going deep. Play him on PrizePicks and profit from his bounce-back performance.

Don’t like his points projection? Pick “more” on his 22.5 fantasy score projection. His role is too big and matchup too ripe for him to not roar past that number as well.

PrizePicks NBA Pick: Corey Kispert - More Than 6.5 Points

This is a goblin, but free squares are free squares, and I like free things.

After last year’s All-Star Break, Kispert averaged 16.1 pts and 32.4 mpg. He recently signed a 4-year, $54 million contract extension, which is a ringing endorsement for his expected role as a sharpshooter this season.

We project Kispert to play 28 mins and score 14.7 pts tonight. The blowout risk against Boston is high, but I don’t see a scenario where it’s so significant that the former first-team All-American won’t still score 7 points to exceed his PrizePicks NBA projection tonight.

PrizePicks NBA Pick: Jayson Tatum - More Than 5 Assists

Our projections agree with tonight’s PrizePicks assist projection for Jayson Tatum. So why am I recommending this pick?

On Opening Night, Tatum dished out 10 assists in just 30 minutes. Advanced stats say he had 12 potential assists against the Knicks, so even if/when his teammates cool off, it’ll take a REALLY inefficient night at that rate for Deuce to not finish with 5+ helpers.

Boston blew out New York then, and they’ll blow out Washington tonight. That might scare off some folks, but I’m of the belief that backing the side doing the blowing-out isn’t nearly as risky.

If the Celtics are scoring at will tonight, Tatum will be at the center of it. The only reason he wouldn't clear this projection along the way is if he decides to stop passing the ball and singlehandedly scores 50 points to spark the blowout himself.

PrizePicks NBA Pick: Daniel Gafford - More Than 5 Rebounds

This is purely a projections play.

After joining the Mavericks last season, Gafford averaged 6.9 rebounds and 21.5 minutes per game. His floortime fluctuates more than I'd like due to the emergence of Dereck Lively II, but the Spurs have a lot of size and it's hard to see him not receiving his typical run tonight.

This is a juicy matchup, too. Opponents averaged 45.3 rebounds per game against San Antonio last season, 4th-worst in the NBA.

Our DFS NBA Projections see Gafford playing 24 minutes and grabbing 7.3 rebounds. That's nearly 50% higher than his PrizePicks projection.

Rebounds can be fickle, but this is as favorable as a spot as it gets. Trust tonight's projections and pick Gafford to grab more than 5 rebounds tonight on PrizePicks.
