Ja Morant Over 27.5 Points
The total is high but man is Morant playing at another level right now having hit the over on tonight's prop in seven straight games. The Knicks do play at a slower pace but overall their defense against opposing guards is suspect at best, especially with Kemba Walker in the starting lineup. We have a 217 total on the board with just a four point spread and I see no reason not to keep riding the hot hand right now given the way Ja has taken his game to the next level.
Nikola Jokic Over 13.5 Rebounds
Jokic has dominated the Jazz this season, averaging 25.0 points, 14.0 rebounds and 10.3 assists in three games. That average includes the first meeting of the season which saw Jokic leave after just 15 minutes due to injury. In the last two games against Utah Jokic has pulled down 15 and 21 rebounds. Utah will be without both Rudy Gobert and Hassan Whiteside which will give a big advantage to Jokic here on both ends of the floor. This game has a 220.5 game total with Denver 3.5-point underdogs on the road.
Joel Embiid Over 15.5 First Half Points (UDPDATED)
This was our darling play for most of January but he finally missed the mark against the Kings for us in his last game. That said, I am still willing to run it back here with the total still sitting at 15.5 points. In two games against the Wizards this season Embiid has scored 16 and 18 points in the first half of those games and the Wizards are again starting Daniel Gafford who is averaging 4.5 fouls in just 15 minutes of play in two games against the 76ers this year. Add in the fact that Seth Curry has been ruled out tonight and I think more shots will find their way to Embiid that we saw go his direction against the Kings where he did attempt 12 free throws but was just 1-for-5 from the floor.
UPDATE - 6:46pm ET
So, with Seth Curry ruled out his total has been bumped to 16.5 points. I have long stated on the NBA DFS Podcast and in our discord that the stop point for me on this 1H prop is anything over 16.0 points. Now, Embiid has hit the over 16.5 already in this matchup and all the numbers above are still valid but his hit rate on over 16.5 is much less than his hit rate on the 15.5 total over the past month so use please take that into consideration if still targeting this play.
Bojan Bogdanovic Over 20.5 Points
Bojan has really enjoyed facing the Denver Nuggets this season, especially their last two meetings where he went for 21 and 36 points in those two games. Utah is without Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert and Joe Ingles tonight and could also be missing Jordan Clarkson as well. Bojan has also hit the over on this number in five of the last eight games here as well. With Mitchell, Gobert and Ingles off the floor this season Bojan has a 28.8% usage rate and averages 0.71 points per minute which at just 30 minutes would put us on pace for 21.3 points. Bogdanovic is averaging nearly 33 minutes a game over his last 10 games which would pace him out for 23.4 points at that 0.71 point per minute rate. Let's see him keep the scoring going.
