We kick off the NBA week with 12 games on the DraftKings and FanDuel main slate. The story of today is going to be more about who isn't playing than who is as we have a huge list of star players currently listed as questionable to play this evening. If these big stars sit out the entire landscape of the player pool and roster construction will flip so make sure you are glued to your phones or computers as we close in on lineup lock tonight because you will almost certainly need to make some pivots here or be left in the dust by those who do.

Favorite Starters to Use for DFS Lineups

Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets

The price point on Jokic tonight is actually really good,  especially with Jamal Murray out of the lineup. The matchup against the Pelicans who are without C.J. McCollum is also a solid one as Jonas Valanciunas, while big, is not a great defender meaning Jokic shouldn't have too much trouble scoring the basketball. The absence of Murray shouldn't really hurt his assist numbers here either as Denver has plenty of other scoring options to help pick up the slack.

Tyler Herro, Miami Heat

If you tuned into the NBA DFS Preview Show from this morning you heard the debate that Grande and I had about Tyler Herro and whether or not we were leaning more towards Herro, Tyrese Maxey or Dejounte Murray tonight at the guard position. Ultimately I just said that we don't have to choose and we should just play both. With the amount of value that we are expecting to opening up tonight we could see a fair and balance lineup be the contrarian way to go while plays like Herro, Maxey and Murray all have shown 50+ fantasy point ceilings. When speaking specifically on Herro this season, the guard has been a monster, almost never coming off the floor while leading the Heat in shot attempts and scoring per game.

Tyrese Maxey, Philadelphia 76ers

Speaking of players that don't come off the floor. With Nick Nurse now the head coach in Philly we know whether in a competitive game or a blowout that Maxey should see at least 35-minutes a night. Today, the 76ers are double-digit favorites in an elite matchup against the Washington Wizards. Not that it will matter all that much but the Wizards are looking to be at full strength tonight with Daniel Gafford, Corey Kispert and Deni Avdija going through the morning shootaround so maybe this one stays a bit more competitive than we think. Either way, Maxey has been a usage monster while filling out the stat sheet to help us get that nice 40-50 fantasy point ceiling.

Jabari Smith, Houston Rockets

Smith sometimes feels like the forgotten man here in Houston with the likes of Jalen Green, Fred VanVleet and Alperen Sengun getting the love but the lets not forget about that fact that Smith was the third overall pick last season and had a pretty decent rookie year. In year two he has come out looking like a complete player, averaging 14.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and a combined 1.2 blocks and steals per game while shooting 48% from the field and 34.5 percent from three-point range. At his current price tag Smith has exceed 5x return on DraftKings and FanDuel in each of the last three games.

Talen Horton-Tucker, Utah Jazz

A favorite player of mine, THT is filling the stat sheet and scoring the basketball the way I had hoped he would this season. The lone drawback has been the fact that Utah isn't a great team so there are spots where they get blown out and he doesn't play the full allotment of minutes we need out of him. He is very underpriced today on both DraftKings and FanDuel. On both platforms he has gone for at least 5x return on his price tag in four of the six games this season.

Mispriced Plays to Target (Players Priced to Exceed 5x Value)

Fred VanVleet, Houston Rockets

FVV is a great play tonight across the board but on DraftKings specifically you are getting a great discount given his recent performances. At his current price tag FVV has given us 6x return once and 7x return twice. Those three performances have come over the last four games. On FanDuel, we've gotten 5x twice and 6x returns during that same stretch.

Zach Collins, San Antonio Spurs

A popular play from a rostership standpoint tonight is Spurs center Zach Collins and for a good reason as the price point here just has not moved despite the recent stretch of strong production here. While everyone is rightfully focused on the performances by Victor Wembanyama, Collins has given us at least 5x return on FanDuel over his last three starts and on DraftKings we've gotten three 5x returns and a 7x return to show what his ceiling really is.

Jalen Suggs, Orlando Magic

I really like Suggs for cash games here tonight but I suspect as more players get ruled out the ownership will likely go in a different direction. That said, Markelle Fultz has already been ruled out tonight which means more minutes for Suggs in the Magic backcourt here this evening. On DraftKings Suggs has given us two games of 5x and two games of 6x return on his tonight's price tag this season while on FanDuel we've seen five total games with at least 4x return on value with one 5x and one 6x game mixed in.

Grant Williams, Dallas Mavericks

We don't know if Luka Doncic or Kyrie Irving will play tonight on the back-to-back so why not look at Williams here who is not afraid to shoot the basketball and is having a fine first season in Dallas after getting traded from Boston and signing a new contract. At his FanDuel price tag Williams has two games of 5x return and one game of 6x return on the season while playing with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Over on DraftKings the production is even better with two games of 5x, one game of 6x and one game of 7x return on tonight's price tag.

Favorite Bargain Plays to Use for DFS Lineups

Dillon Brooks, Houston Rockets

Another Houston Rockets player makes the playbook today with Dillon Brooks popping off for 8x return on his price tag in each of the last two games which included a matchup against these same Kings last time out. In total we haven't gotten worse than 4x from Brooks on DraftKings while on FanDuel we've gotten 6x and nearly 7x return.

Reggie Jackson, Denver Nuggets

He gave us a fantasy point per minute following the Murray injury and now we expect him to start and likely play 30 minutes here this evening for the Nuggets. The price  tag on FanDuel tonight will likely make him the highest rostered point guard on the slate as he sits at just $4,200.

Atlanta Hawks

Honestly, there is a ton of great value here on the Hawks so I'm just going to mention them all here in one blurb. De'Andre Hunter, Jalen Johnson, Sadiq Bey and Onyeka Okongwu are all in my player pool tonight with Atlanta's matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder who should have Shai Gilgeous-Alexander back in their lineup tonight.

Goga Bitadze, Orlando Magic

With Wendell Carter Jr. out we saw Goga enter the starting lineup against the Lakers and hold his own, finishing with a double-double and five blocked shots. Tonight against the Magic should be a pretty easy matchup when given the fact he just had to go up against Anthony Davis as Dallas will start rookie Derek Lively at center and use a rather smaller front court. It also helps that the Mavericks may also be without Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving who tend to drive to the basketball and put opposing centers in foul trouble.

Marcus Sasser, Detroit Pistons

There are plenty of value guards on tonight's slate so you can really pick your poison but with Alec Burks doubtful and Jaden Ivey again questionable we have to look at Sasser here who has gone for 30+ fantasy points now in three straight games. He should also be in line to get any blowout run if the Pistons find themselves getting downed by the Golden State Warriors this evening.
