We are also looking at key injuries to Anthony Edwards and Chris Paul which will keep them out of tonight's games while the likes of Victor Wembanyama, Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and LeBron James are all listed as questionable.

Notable NBA Game Totals

Top Tier Core Plays

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, PG Oklahoma City Thunder

We getting SGA in a game that is expected to be competitive with a high total. He is coming off a 52 FP performance in a low scoring matchup against the Timberwolves but is only a few games removed from 65 and 73 FP performances. I love the upside here today while a lot of focus goes towards the Hawks vs Spurs and Pacers vs Heat matchups.

Victor Wembanyama, PF/C San Antonio Spurs

Over the past week we've gotten games where Wembanyama has totaled nine and 10 blocks+steals. In those two games he went for 60 FP in 25 minutes and 60 FP in 31 minutes. Both games the Spurs lost by double-digits. In competitive games we've seen Wembanyama play 35 minutes and now you add in the pace up spot and the high game total and there is a legitimate chance we see Wembanyama with his highest scoring fantasy game of the season.

Karl-Anthony Towns, PF/C Minnesota Timberwolves

We talked up KAT a lot last night with news that Anthony Edwards is doubtful to play today. The problem here is with the Jazz who are on a back-to-back and have Lauri Markkanen already ruled out and now both Jordan Clarkson and Kelly Olynyk listed as questionable. This game already has an 11-point spread and if it gets too out of hand we may not get the full run of minutes but we've also seen Towns completely dominate games in three quarters before and without Anthony Edwards on the floor this season Towns has a 38% usage rate while averaging 1.4 FP/Min.

Mid-Tier Core Plays

Kawhi Leonard, PF Los Angeles Clippers

Its nice to see the real Kawhi Leonard finally enter the chat. After a season of middling performances we've now gotten back-to-back games of 50+ fantasy points from Leonard following his  34 point outburst against the Kings. Now on a back-to-back, Leonard gets a matchup against the Golden State Warriors which could be a preview of a Western Conference playoff battle.

Cam Thomas, SG/SF Brooklyn Nets

Thomas is good to go and will play tonight for the Nets against the Hornets. We know how explosive Thomas can be even in limited playing time and while we haven't gotten any word that he will be on a minutes limit here tonight the appeal of his scoring upside is certainly there at the price. Prior to getting hurt Thomas was coming off a 45 actual point outing against the Bucks and he already scored 33 actual this season against the Hornets.

Dejounte Murray, PG/SG Atlanta Hawks

Always sucker for a good return game narrative. Here we have Murray going back to San Antonio after being traded by the Spurs last season. Murray has been in a bit of a slump of late but prior to the recent two game skid we saw him rattle of three straight games over 40+ fantasy points. The price and matchup are right for him to have a ceiling game here today.

Value Tier Core Plays

Immanuel Quickley, PG/SG New York Knicks

The Knicks are heavy favorites here tonight and while blowouts don't ensure extra playing time for Quickley has been on quite a run of late while playing at least 26 minutes in three straight contest while scoring no less than 27 FP in either game. The price and the matchup are the appeal here with the Pistons checking in as one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA while ranking 6th in pace which is a big spot for the Knicks who rank 29th in pace of play.

Troy Brown Jr. SG/SF Minnesota Timberwolves

With Anthony Edwards leaving with an injury the other night we saw Troy Brown Jr. step up and play 21 minutes off the bench the other night. Brown has played 21, 18 and 25 minutes of the last three games while putting up 21 FP in two of those three. There is a real chance that he starts tonight in place of Edwards and has always flashed some potential when given playing time dating back to his days with the Wizards. I'll throw honorable mentions out to Naz Reid and Kyle Anderson here as well who should both benefit with Edwards off the floor and present some value pricing.
