After a nice six-game slate to begin December, for December 2nd we have a big 10-game slate. We have a matchup that features a massive game total between Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks taking on Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, and the Milwaukee Bucks. Plus, we also have stars in action like Nikola Jokic, Tyrese Haliburton and the two Lakers stars, LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

NBA Game Totals

Top Tier Core Plays

Tyrese Haliburton, PG, Indiana Pacers

Haliburton has been awesome all season long, and the Pacers play at the highest pace in the NBA. He is heading into this one questionable as he seems to be every night. However, if he plays he needs to be a core play in your lineup tonight. This game has the second-highest game total on the slate so the game environment should be a good one against the Heat once again. These two teams played each other on Tuesday night and Haliburton scored 73 fantasy points.

Update: Tyrese Haliburton has been ruled out for the Indiana Pacers tonight. T.J. McConnell now becomes viable in lineups tonight if he starts.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, PF/C, Milwaukee Bucks

If you are not going Haliburton tonight Giannis is another nice play. This game against the Hawks has a massive game total of 253 which is the highest on the slate by 14 points. You are going to want many pieces from this matchup so why not get the best player in the game? Antetokounmpo is also coming off three straight games where he is coming off three straight games of over 60 fantasy points. The Bucks are also coming off a disappointing loss to an under-manned Chicago Bulls team, so you know Giannis is going to come into this game with a chip on his shoulder.

Trae Young, PG, Atlanta Hawks

Looking at the other side of the Bucks-Hawks matchup Trae Young is another great option. Young is coming off a monster game in a two-point win over the San Antonio Spurs. He finished with a 45-point and 14-assist double-double and 76.5 fantasy points. We know Young is a bit boom or bust, but the boom in tonight's great game environment could be worth the risk with neither team being interested in playing much defense.

De'Aaron Fox, PG, Sacramento Kings

Over the last three games we have seen Fox take his game to another level this season. He is being uber-aggressive as he has taken 32, 20, and 23 shot attempts in those games. Fox has scored at least 29 game points in each game and dished out 21 assists over that span as well. Fox ranks 11th is the league in usage rate with 31% so he always has the ball in his hands. If you are paying for Jokic tonight, Fox is a good option to be able to game-stack that matchup.

Jimmy Butler, SF/PF, Miami Heat

As we said above for Haliburton, we just saw this matchup on Thursday and Jimmy Butler was great. He was aggressive Jimmy who got up 19 shots and posted a 36-point 11 rebound double-double. He is going to need to help out on the glass once again tonight with his running mate Bam Adebayo being ruled out making his ceiling higher. The matchup is also a great one against the Pacers who have zero interest in trying to play defense, they just want to try and outscore you. Jimmy will be locked into my lineup tonight.

Mid-Tier Core Plays

Nikola Vucevic, C, Chicago Bulls

With Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan out in the last game for the Bulls, we got to see what it looked like with Nikola Vucevic as the Hub of the offense. It looked pretty solid with Vuc looking extremely engaged and scoring a season-high 29 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out six assists. LaVine has already been ruled out for this matchup and DeRozan is questionable. If both of them our out of the lineup Vuc is going to be a lock in my lineups.

Update: DeMar DeRozan is in the lineup tonight for the Bulls making Vuc less appealing. I am still ok with the play, but do not love it.

Chet Holmgren, C, Oklahoma City Thunder

I like this matchup for Chet Holmgrom with him battling another young center tonight in Dereck Lively. Over the Thunders last four games, Chet has taken a step forward averaging 21 points and eight rebounds while adding two blocks as well to be around 42 fantasy points per game. He is priced under 8K still on DraftKings, and I absolutely love his price and could see him smashing his value in this matchup against the Mavs.

Buddy Hield, SG/SF, Indiana Pacers

Buddy Hield's price has skyrocketed over the past few days as he is now priced at $6,400 which is $1,000 more than he was a week ago. However, I still believe he can provide value in a good game environment against the Miami Heat. He played 31 minutes in the last matchup and shot just 5/16 from the field but he still finished with over 30 fantasy points because he added five assists and five rebounds. I am banking on the flamethrower to be relit tonight, and Hield to have a big game.

Jaime Jaquez Jr., SF/PF, Miami Heat

Jaime Jaquez, like Buddy Hield, is another guy who has driven his price up over the past few days. Rightfully so, this rookie has finished with at least 29 fantasy points over his last six games. He seems to always be at the right place at the right time. His numbers have taken a step up in the past few games because of the usage increase he is seeing. He Has at least a 23% usage rate in four of those past five games and is only averaging an 18.7% usage rate this season. We even saw a new element to his game against the Pacers in the last matchup getting to the free throw line seven times.

Saddiq Bey, PF, Atlanta Hawks

We want to keep attacking this Hawks-Bucks matchup and let's look at Saddiz Bey. Bey is not in the starting five with Jalen Johnson missing time with a wrist injury. Bey has played at least 32 minutes in back-to-back games and finished with 25 and 28 fantasy points. He is priced at $5,700 on DraftKings which seems about right, but in a good matchup, I can see Bey going five times his value tonight.

Value Tier Core Plays

Kevin Love, PF/C, Miami Heat

With Bam out, tonight should see Kevin Love get the starting nod. Even if he doesn't start, he can still bring you value at his price. Love has scored over 23 fantasy points in four of his past five games, while only playing over 17 minutes once during that span. He gives you a solid floor because of his rebounding each night and his ceiling can be hit if he starts knocking down shots from behind the arc. Love is shooting just 30% from behind the arc over his past 13 games. That could turn around tonight in a good matchup.

Ayo Dosunmu, PG/SG Chicago Bulls

With Zach LaVine ruled out, I would assume Ayo Dosunmu will get another start. He was awesome in the Bulls last game playing 39 minutes in the overtime game scoring 14 points grabbing six rebounds and dishing out six assists for 36 fanatsy points. He is priced at just 5K on DraftKings which makes him a fine play.

Jaden Hardy, PG/SG, Josh Green SF/PF, Dallas Mavericks

As news comes out today about who is and and out for Mavericks I will update this section. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving's statuses are both up in the air which affects both Jaden Hardy and Josh Green. With Luka and Dante Exum out last night, Jaden Hardy got some extended run. We know this kid can be a bucket when he wants to but he did the little things last night. Hardy finished with eight points but dished out five assists and grabbed five rebounds. If Luka sits again tonight, he should be in the rotation and could get a start if Kyrie is out as well.

Josh Green is oddly cheaper even though he is guaranteed more minutes as he has 30 over the last two games. He doesn't have a ceiling quite as high as Hardy but is a tough safer as he has gone over 18 fantasy points in four of his last five games. If news comes out later that both Luka and Kyrie sit, i will then look to pivot to Grant Williams who had a big night last night.

Isaiah Joe, SG/SF, Oklahoma City Thunder

Isaiah Joe is a guy whose price still hasn't increased even after being very solid the last seven games. Joe has scored over 20 fantasy points in each of those seven games. His price is only $4,500 on DraftKings, and I do not quite understand what they are thinking. I am plugging Joe into my lineup tonight and not really thinking twice about it.
