NBA Best Bets & Player Props December 2: Riding With Dorian Finney-Smith From Long Range
Saturday is here and there are twelve NBA games today. They begin at 4:00 PM ET with a Western Conference back to back game for the Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Clippers. It has been two profitable days in a row, and the momentum should keep going. The spreads are quite large for some teams, and the prop lines are tightening up across the books. Not to worry, that is what Fantasy Alarm NBA Best Bets is here to provide, the winning margin. There are two straight bets and a prop bet for the bet of the night. Dorian Finney-Smith and the Brooklyn Nets host the 14-5 Orlando Magic with a 7:10 PM ET tip off. A double unit will be placed on a D. Finney-Smith prop that has a successful hit rate. There is also the match of a team in back-to-back games, and the prediction could surprise you. The last bet features the Portland Trail Blazers at Utah Jazz, in what is an interesting line.
BET OF THE NIGHT
DORIAN FINNEY-SMITH OVER 1.5 THREES MADE (-180 DraftKings Sportsbook; 2 Units)
Dorian Finney-Smith (DFS) is the prototypical three-and-D NBA player. A player that excels at defense, but does not spend many minutes possessing the ball. They are also known for having excellent, or at least better than average three point making skills. DFS is shooting 46.4% from the three point-line while the league average is 36.2%. He checks that box, and he is often tasked with guarding the best scorer of the opposing teams while averaging 31.4 minutes per game. He has covered this prop in four of his last five games, and had four or more attempts in all but one game of November. The Orlando Magic have height and perimeter shots, particularly in the corner where he prefers to shoot, will be wise selections. Two units to be placed to get slightly over a unit in return.
STRAIGHT BET
NEW ORLEANS PELICANS ML (-160 BetMGM)
The New Orleans Pelicans are playing the second of back-to-back games. They are on the road against the Chicago Bulls, who will be without All-Star shooting guard Zach LaVine. He is averaging 21 points per game, and the Pelicans are a high scoring team. Although the injury report is not released for the Pelicans, CJ McCollum is declared out as he just recently returned from a collapsed lung. Brandon Ingram, Herbert Jones, Zion Williamson, and Jonas Valanciunas are all expected to play as of now and are more than a problem for the Chicago Bulls. Trey Murphy III, Dyson Daniels, and Jordan Hawkins have played meaningful minutes this season, and the Chicago Bulls have lost five of their last six. They look like a team collecting paychecks, not one contending for titles. The superstars of the Pelicans likely play hard while the bench fine-tunes their rhythm for the In-Season Tournament game Monday against the Sacramento Kings.
STRAIGHT BET
PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS (+105 BetMGM)
The Portland Trail Blazers are going through hard times with young talent, and a roster turnover. They only have six wins on the season, but so does their opponent the Utah Jazz. The Jazz have thirteen losses as well, one more than the Portland Trail Blazers. Utah has three crucial players already declared out; Jordan Clarkson, Lauri Markkanen, and Kris Dunn. Kelly Olynyk is questionable and that will be a huge chunk of their scoring and rebounding if he were to be out as well. Portland will be without Anfernee Simons, but have Jerami Grant, DeAndre Ayton, and Shaedon Sharpe to put up points tonight. It seems that the sportsbooks are favoring the Utah Jazz simply for being at home, and this could be a plus odds moneyline bet that is off in their estimation. A Northwest Division showdown between the bottom two teams, and the healthier team should win.
