Daily Fantasy Basketball Du-Rant
The Daily Fantasy Basketball Du-Rant provides you daily recommendations in a four tiered format, with specific targets for GPP tournaments (Guaranteed Prize Payout tournaments) and separate players that may be more geared towards Double Up (DU) contests. It does not mean they are only worth playing in said format, just that I like them in that type of format a little more. (Since there are only five games this evening will skip seperating the picks into GPP/DU segments and just provide you with some players that have the potential to meet or exceed their value tonight).
Daily Dandies
For those of you checking out my recommendations for the first time, I group the players in A,B,C,D Tiers as a play on the old A,B,C,D basketball camps and as an easy way to distinguish player tiers. (All prices are according to Draft Street). If you have any specific questions post them in the comments section and I will answer them asap or send me a tweet by clicking on my twitter handle at the top of this article. A-All Star priced players that should put up All Star stats today (target 35+ FP, $16,000-on up).
GPP
Dwight Howard (18.4%) is averaging 25 points and 14 rebounds in three games versus the Mavs and has posted a double-double in each of his last six games.
DU
Al Jefferson (18.4%) has exceeded 35 FP in six of his last eight games and is actually averaging over three more FP on the road than he has at home. In addition, the Nuggets are allowing the most points in the paint this season. Obviously Durant, LeBron, KLove, and Blake are all also worth considering, it just depends on who fits into your budget the best. Note Anthony Davis is NOT playing tonight
B-rated Ballers: Big name players with big games, but not as high of a price tag as the top five or so priced players at each position (around 30 FP, $12,000-$16,000).
GPP
Jeff Green (12.3%) is a risky play, which should help keep his ownership reasonably low and the matchup is very enticing. The Sixers are allowing the most points per game as a team and as suspect of a defender as Jeff Green is, Evan Turner is arguably worse, and at least has been over the last 15 days as the Sixers are allowing the most FP to opposing small forwards over that span. Suns Markieff Morris is also worth considering, but I think his ownership may be a little high tonight and the price is a little inflated as well.
DU
Monta Ellis (13.9%) is coming off a dud of a performance as he scored under 9 FP against the Pistons on Sunday, so look from that bounceback game we often see from star caliber players. It helps he is playing the Rockets as he with either be matched up against James Harden who may play tonight and if he does he will not be 100% and even when healthy Harden is a “turrible” defender. If Harden is out then Jeremy Lin will likely draw the short straw and have to try and contain a hungry Monta Ellis. Also consider 76ers guard Michael Carter-Williams as Rajon Rondo will not play tonight.
C-as in players that COULD be in line to provide you with good to great value in the mid-tier price range (target 25+ FP, $8,000-$12,000).
GPP
Nate Robinson (10%) Ty Lawson (rotator cuff strain) remains a game-time decision for tonight's game vs. the Bobcats. If Lawson is out consider rostering Nate Dog who is coming off a 25-plus FP outing against the Kings.
Boris Diaw (9%) doubled up in loss to the Rockets Tuesday with a team-high 22 points along with 11 rebounds, four assists, and two blocks. The double-double was the first of the season for Diaw who is rolling of late as he has scored in double figures in each of his last four games and five of his last six. Another plus in Diaw’s favor is that the Bulls are in the top third of the NBA this month in allowing points to opposing team’s frontcourt players.
Ronny Turiaf (11%) I do not recommend Turiaf at this price, but on some other sites you will find him at a much more friendly discount. Turiaf is slated to start in place of the injured Nikola Pekovic who is out with ankle bursitis.
DU
Miles Plumlee (9.1%) is coming off a double-double performance in his last game against the Sixers and gets arguably an even better matchup tonight against the Bucks who may be without Larry Sanders again. Even if Sanders plays it should not change your opinion on Plumlee as the Bucks allow opponents to rebound at the third highest rate in the NBA this season.
Taj Gibson (11.1%) if Joakim Noah is ruled out (Noah is questionable for tonight’s game as he is still battling an illness), Gibson would slide into the starting lineup. In five games as a starter Gibson is averaging 17.2 points and 9.4 rebounds and the Spurs are riddled with injuries and are playing their second game in as many nights, so Gregg Popovich could easily decide to rest some of his starters.
D-Discounted Dandies: Players on the cheap whose production may exceed what their discounted price tag suggests. (Double Digit Fantasy Production, $3,500-$8,000).
GPP
Evan Fournier (7.9%) for the same reasons Nate Robinson could be in play tonight, so to would be Fournier.
DU
Greg Stiemsma (4.9%) would only have to score about 11 FP to reach value, but I expect almost double that, if not more tonight. For more on why Stiemsma is worth rolling the dice on tonight check out our brand new Daily Dribble article, which now comes out every morning seven days a week.
Best of Luck tonight and don’t be afraid to go rouge and post your questions in the comments section and/or send me a tweet @FantasyNomad.
